That nose looks like a P-38 to me.

The cockpit glass gives it away.

Almost looks too big until you see the Seven parked outside.

The Mosquitos are small for a twin.

Had the pleasure of fly-in fishing camp last week some 270 miles north of Sault Ste. Marie, ONT. 1948 Beaver.

Of course, the avid fisherman needs sustenance. It's rough work!

Turbine Otter operated by Hawk Air of Hawk Junction, ONT, and pictured at their airbase there.

How about a picture of all the fish you caught (with an airplane in the background).

That picture of the nose was small and fooled me. It is the fighter nose. I knew a gentleman who flew Mosquito Night Fighters in England who had 13 night victories in one. He told me of a fight that he had with a JU-88 where both ran out of ammo. I also saw a Mossie at the NACA labs at Langley Field and that airplane ran rings around everything that flew with it including the P-38. Marvelous airplane and beautiful and a beautiful sound with both Merlin 61's in full song. I have done a painting of one that I will post soon as I can find it.

As an avowed Mosquito freak, I can't wait for that aircraft to make it to the U.S. The only Mossie I ever saw fly was in England, and, sadly, that aircraft subsequently came to grief.

A friend in L.A.. sent me this picture today. He was near the Burbank airport. He did expect that the shuttle would come closer, but it made the pass some distance away.

At first, Ryan was not selling very many aircraft. To keep the Company going, they began building aluminum coffins. They had an unofficial slogan, "For flyin' or dyin', see Ryan."
