I would not lift CT from those lifting points, chassi tubes are so thin, car lift makes them collaps. Murcielago, sure, I think it is illustrated in ownersmanual to lift car from similar points.
the odometer reads in kilometers, 89719(to be exact)... I listed it converted to miles 55k. White on White? (if it don't sell I may bring it back to that) thanks for the info.
That car is the most photographed Countach in the world, the guy selling it SATURATED the internet with pictures, advertisements and YouTube burnouts, drag races, push jump starts, doughnuts, and everything you could imagine.
Your on CRACK if you think that cars price should start with a 2 ? Does the original white interior come with the car ????
ah! Great! now we understand the original price of $325K.. that is what the owner had to pay to fix the consequences Peter, So now the injected are $145K ask? I guess Joe's right, there is no premium for "Andretti".. Also the VIN # is fake. the guy did not put the vin there. If that is Tyson car, I probably would discount it by $20K.. But again, I seem to be the lone heart who would gets financially emotional about who owned the car...
True the tubes are thin, but the tubes they are lifting from are fine. Despite all the tubes I had to replace on my car (from previous negligence) I regularly lift my car there to get it high enough to put it on a rotary lift.
Well Mr. 17posts, you must not be aware that two have sold already well into the 2's and the one before that (about a year ago) was around 185.
Agreed. Tubes are strong but not that strong. That's why you have to aim for the welds where the tubes meet. I'd use 2 stands at the rear and use the jack as a saftey butted up against the frame. Hey, anybody jack the car from each of the 2 jack points on the side??????? Will the car balance and teeter or just thump to one end?
I've done it many times! But this guy is using the jack as a stand...which is a big no-no. But people still do it all the time. The most excuses for it is "i'm not getting underneath it (that far)" or"I'm only jacking it up for a minute"....I say take 5, stay alive.
Lol +1 I think we have established that period correct colors are acceptable to the point where the effected value is minimal.
That is your homework assignment for tonight I have never tried it....but let me know how it works out....then I will know it is safe to try that method on my car
Mileage - thanks for the clarification. I think at at least one venue it was thought the car had 55k km as opposed to 55k miles. That's where the confusion amongst prospective parties started. When asking benchmark prices, I would imagine this issue needs to be without doubt. Any prospective buyer of any Countach with 89,719 km on the clock will want to know: who rebuilt the engine, when, and to what spec? These engines will literally run forever as we have seen with the 400 GT with over 250k miles, but that car has received at least 4 engine rebuilds. These engines can be good for 50-60k km without a rebuild if used carefully, but 89k km is a high-mileage Countach engine so when asking top dollar it all needs to be laid out plain as day as to what the status is. Livery - I am surprised you did not know the previous livery of this car, again, because you are asking what is perceived to be a benchmark price. One would imagine you would know the history from day one.
Here's the interesting thing about that....if you did convert it back to as it left the factory, you won't lose the money you paid for the job inside and out. As we have seen, some people are willing to pay whatever it take for an original livery car that they don't have to put a penny into. Most guys don't want to be bother having to send the car out blah blah blah.
17 posts ??? I don't get that reference. Is there a requirement on this site for a minim number of posts before you are allowed to have an opinion ? Is it, the more posts you have under your belt, the smarter you are ? Please explain. Yes I am aware of the 2 that have sold in the 2's and probably more, although it would be hard to believe that you would not have knowledge of any Countach that has changed hands in this universe. Please READ my post again, I was referring to THAT PARTICULAR CAR.
Ken I think JDBQV is just exhibiting a touch of sarcasm, because methinks he is well aware of the market but perceives that this particular car does not necessarily equate to similar value. Perhaps he will clarify..
What's to explain. Yes, your post count shows 17 posts. Which means you haven't been around here long or you haven't contributed much. Of course you are entitled to your opinion but why would you want one of your first posts to be rude and offensive?
Tony, I think that's a flippant response. And here is why: lets use your own pictures drawn from the same set of images. In fact, I think the trunk was shut. Look a the left side of the trunk. As shut as can be. However, as with many Countachs, the adjustable trunk mountings are not always dead-centered and are a little off one side or another. No big deal, simply adjust it back to center. However, it is clear that the right (passenger) side rear lens was 'dropped' down significantly in its aperture when mounted. That is not factory application, and this is what Michael noticed. You can see the silicone gap on the bottom is thin, and a rather large gap at the top. This is glaringly obvious in the way the rear panel does not line up with the right lens, but does with the left lens. Again, no big deal, pull the lens, center the unit, and re-apply the silicone. Yet again, if you are asking a premium number, people expect it to be just right. That's a no-brainer. Image Unavailable, Please Login
