Thank you but I think I'll keep my 458. Article: http://www.autoblog.com/2012/09/26/mclaren-p1-supercar-paris-walkround/ Image Unavailable, Please Login
That was my first impression but with the newer images, I am fast changing. Go check out in the British forum for full update http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=383265
completely different league though. Not a fan of either Mclaren, MP4 or the P1. Kinda like the rear end of the P1 though. Give me a slower Zonda any day of the week.
Apparently those who have responded have a distinct dislike for the car. To me it appears very "busy", but this may be the color combination and how the rear spoiler deploys. Always need to see a car to know. I remember visiting the Ferrari Factory when they were just beginning the 458 run and thought "ugh", the front lights and angles make the front difficult to enjoy. I now own one and have never thought of that since. Best
Exterior doesn't flow naturally...it appears to be pressured. Looks like Mansory may have had a hand in the design.
I think this is a function over form car. Except when they could pop out a beauty like the F1, there are no excuses for them. I would imagine it would be fast as hell though. In all fairness, I love how the 288gto looks, and the looks of the f40, but I really don't care much for looks of the f50 or the f60 enzo. So it's not like ferrari has gotten it right all the time in my book either.
I hated it like most of you guys at first. The new live images from the show floor in the Paris show is looking much better though. Still not liking it yet, but it is getting easier on the eyes. Definitely very unique though.
If this is what wind-tunnel design gets you... Then leave the high performance to the race cars and give me a road car that actually looks nice =(
I am not a big fan of McLaren per se but remember that the F1 when introduced, was without peers and was a gamechanger in the early 90's. So I would wait to see what the F70 looks like and how it compares to the actual production P1 before I would throw any stones...
Not very informative, but there's some interesting stuff here: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V--Srdlbzbk&list=UU5rBpVgv83gYPZ593XwQUsA&index=1&feature=plpp_video[/ame]
