That is really an excellent question... one I'll have to research.

If a brake job is $9K, then I'm going to have to really think about what's important.

Of course, the fact that my wife wants a Bentley kinda outweighs a lot of other stuff.

    :D

I'm in this market and have been learning a bit. Just not maintenance costs.

I like the Arnage T Mulliner with the bar and picnic tables in the back of the front seats.

They aren't so common. There is a nice car available that has a refrigerator in the back seat.

I really like the look of a classic. Plus, that's a ton of premium car for a little scratch. Or is that two ton? Regardless it seems to have a nice presence. A substantial car that should deliver substantial comfort while moving you about with good taste.

That certainly sums it up. Nice post. Theres one other saloon car id like to try before getting the Arnage T, a 2006-8 Jag Super V8 with the tray tables in the back. Ive always liked their look and they're silly cheap. Then, the. Bentley. I doubt the brakes are 9k, but even if, you dont have to get it done right away, im sure you have other cars to drive.

If you like the color, get it and Enjoy.

I also really like the late model Arnage, in white please.

As for maintenance, a mechanic I know told me that cars are prety daggon reliable. But when something breaks, repairs on a Bentley make repairs on a Ferrari look like owning a Honda. I would imagine that since VW owns Bentley, you should be able to cross reference alot of parts. For example the Continentals run VW's turbo charged W12 engine. So I don't think it would be far fetched that the Arnage is running some sort of other VW power plant??? Or maybe not.

The Audi/VW W12 is in the Continental GT and Flying Spur models, but the Arnage/Azure models use the turbocharged V8, which should be the direct lineage of the old Bentley 8 cylinder. Perhaps the electronics and wiring are new, but I would expect the old Bentley block.

    I want mine in blue:

Work on it yourself. A local Fcar owner had a serpentine belt go out on his Bentley Azure, he got a replacement part from autozone and fixed it for $18.

I read in Wiki that the are using the original engine block, and Cosworth was building the blocks. Dunno if that is still the case. But if it's got a Cosi under the hood, it's gotta lask. Though the mpg sucks, 14mpg highway. My big ol' Expedition gets better milage than that. which is really surprising nice The Azure has a boosted engine. Would have expected something closer to 20mpg.

Gas is about $.67 a gallon here, and the entire country is the size of Massachusetts.

    Not real concerned about mileage.
