    LOL.

On a serious note does that mean that they wear out and you can't tell or equally that wearing out has no bearing on whether or where they snap?

I've had the belts snap on 2 cars...thankfully not on the 348 though! In both cases it was on "non interfernce" engines (Toyota and Honda) so it was just a case of new belt on (although I chose to have bearings done on one of them too) and away you go no harm done! :) Reckon Ferrari would of sold a lot more cars if their engines were like this!

In both cases there was absolutely no warning at all - no funny noises beforehand, no drop in performance and in both cases I wasnt even accelerating or anything - just cruisng along doing about 50mph. I cant remember on one but on other one the belt had done about 80k and was about 5 years old. Pic attached...

I think the thing to worry about is that the 348 has a single belt rather than (I think) 2 belts in a 355 etc so if it goes you'll do over both sides :-(

    That was all he said.

And I took it to heart.

I had a belt snap on an Eagle Talon many years ago. It was low mileage and only a couple years old. It was an interference engine and I did have to pay for a valve job.
