Of course you run the risk of being boxed in.

But you can get in and out of the car easily enough. After all you'll need some place warm and dry to wait.

    I'll work on that, mate.

Guess I'll have to save every penny from now on until I can get that "good car."

You guys are right... some absoloute bandit came and parked right next to me!

Dont worry I took care of his windows... heh heheh he

There is a minor problem about taking 2 spaces......it's illegal!
I personally don't do it in fear of retalliation, but if there are most spots available, I don't get upset at it either. I just always look for wide end spots, and move all the way over.
I don't know where you live, but in NY it's illegal to take 2 spots, and you can get a ticket for "parking out of stall". So yes we are in a free country, and yes you should protect your property the best you can and yes nobody has the right to damage your property, but NO you are not free to do whatever you want with your car. Driving is a privelege and not a right. If the rules aren't followed, you will open your self up to getting a ticket/fine for it. Tickets are not written very often for out of stall parking, but if the guy who parked next to you called the police/traffic agent (even better), instead of blocking you in, they would have issued you a ticket and that guy would have gotten the last chuckle. If you don't care about possibly getting a ticket every now and then, no harm done.

I cracked up when you said that you made the guy eat the note! Although very funny and in my opinion justice was served, I can't help but feel like you were that bully in high school, and as others said, you may need some kind of anger management counseling. Just make sure you don't take that street justice too far and get yourself into some legal trouble. I think it's great to hear "justice" stories like this, but unfortunately I've seen too many people get in trouble for it even though I felt like the other guy deserved what he got. Keep a cool head, it works better most of the time. You catch more bees with honey....take it from an ex-revenge king. I used to give it back to people 10X what was done to me. That was my standard multiplier. I've calmed down over the years, but I still can't get rid of my "what's right, is right" attitude. I also try to be smarter about my revenge. It doesn't involve violence or damaging property. I got much wittier (if that's a word) over time.

Hello Chris; The "Wide End Spot", parked ALL the way over is like "Nirvana" for myself, & what I seriously look for. I agree with many of your points, as I too, have spent Faaaaaaaar too long Angry. Your point about anger & the consequential legal repercussions is quite valid, difficult to enjoy one's exotic automobile whilst incarcerated....Mark

Hello "BB"; Sid would BENEFIT himself by reviewing a F.C. members profile, prior to making himself look like an "ASS" in regards to what "Nice Cars" a member, might or might not OWN!!!. I guess "BB" if you treated more gunshot patients in the E.R. & saved your pennies when you TOO!, could afford a "nice Car"....On aside note....Very much Respect what you do "BB"!!!!!....My Best Regards!!.....Mark

Whoa! This thread has taken a really nasty turn. . . I wish I could "unsubscribe," but I just get "INVALID THREAD SPECIFIED." Well, I know, nobody's forcing me to read it - but I'd love to see some more amusing misconceptions, which was the original subject of this thread.

Finally, a reason to like me, I keep the venerable doctors busy, and food in the mouths of lawyers and prison officers...... My work here is done guys!

Now then, misconceptions...... what about the general guy in the street in the uk, you are driving along a road to the shops, maybe in traffic, but either way, pretty much an average gentle roll, you look over towards the sidewalk and there he is, a male of pretty much any age over about 25, shouting and swearing at you. Generally a not so nice nickname for you, like'***king ****, or something.

Why? What made our society change to the point that without provocation, these guys have the need to do it. Why is it that when I was a kid my dad brought me up to be encouraged by people that seemed to have done well (and you do need to do well to own a Ferrari or Aston or Porsche). I wanted to find out how they did it, and held success in reverence, now it's a dirty concept to some?

On the lighter side, the easiest way to demonstrate perceptions is when at a gas station, if a kid is taking photos of the car, offer mum/dad that the child sit in the car while you pay for fuel. The look of astonishment that this 'poser' is a nice guy is obvious in probably 85% of the times I do it.

I haven't met many fcar owners who only bought the car to show off, most are switched onto the marque/driving/lifestyle itself for their own amusement

Totally agree with your last post. When I was young I was taught to look upto success and aspire towards it. Always was into cars, always envious never jealous. I'm about to buy a 456M which my neighbours will get extremely jealous of. It worries me but at the same time I don't think you can ever get away from jealousy.

Love what you do with the kids though. I've done that a few times and the parents are really surprised and thankful. It's nice to make a positive impact on a new generation.

I have to agree with you. The best way to achieve a goal is to look at the person who reached the goal you are trying to attain, then use information from that person to achieve your own goals. Jealousy will only hold people back. I can't stand when people look down at others success. It's very sad.

How does buying the WIDEST vehicle made, prevent people from parking close to you?. In actuality, it MANDATES IT! This has to be a quintessesential example of "counter-intuitive"..that's like a fat person complaining they have no room whilst in an airplane seat, because the people of either side are crowding them....Mark

So can we get some posts about Ferrari myths and misunderstandings, or is this thread a total loss?

One thing I'd note here is that spaces in the uk are usually pretty small, as the average uk car is smaller than the average us built one. I notice the difference whenever I'm over. In general, with a wide car here like a range rover or Ferrari, the actual space leaves only a few inches either side within the lines. Maybe that's why we have so much aggro.

As it goes for kids in the car, the other thing I do is offer to drive clients of mine to their weddings/events etc, for free, as a treat. That always goes down well too
