    Hi everyone,

I just came across this ad which features 6357:

    http://www.mmc-paris.com/voitures-de-collection/annonces-lamborghini-58/annonce-islero-s-inta-rim-364.html

The car is advertised as an "interim"/S Islero, a mention that I didn't know before reading it. In fact, it seems to have a 400GT Islero interior with a GTS bodywork. Also strange are the early GT sidemarkers.

6357 is supposed to be a 400GT Islero and the Lamborghiniregistry states that it has been transformed when it was restored. Maybe the car also changed color during this period.

Does anyone know more about this car?

Consigned to Karl Foitek 5/69, sold 6/70.
After that the car was owned by a German Industrialist, who had a factory hall filled with about 100 exclusive sportscars. This man had the Islero completly restored, mechanical and bodywork. As you can see it was converted to a Islero S, with wider wheel arches and dummy side air-inlets. So it is now in the hands of it's third owner, who had it fitted with Miura-like rims.

Correct Raymond! It is the same car pictured on top in post #1003 of this thread. Also note the car does not have the "S" front quarter windows ;-) Ciao! Marcello

I've been asked to exhibit the Islero at the BBC's Top Gear show this week (over 4 days) - I will post some pictures when I have them.

    Hello,

The offered black Islero was long time ownership within a member of the ILOC.

The Car is also featured in issue No.20 of the ILOC Magazine in 1995.

The owner had also a SII Espada at this time and drove both cars regularly.

    Best regards,

    Kuntatsch

This was in the most collectable Lambo's thread:

RHD Yellow Islero S with Nassau plates - I assume that this is 6435 although I thought it had spent its life in the UK??

Anyone care to comment on this car currently on ebay? Already mentioned elsewhere the painted knockoffs and the large bull on the dash are obvious blems. But, is anyone here familiar with this car? I have several people pestering me for mine so I thought I might shoot towards this one perhaps.

That's your car! Or perhaps your ex car? Can you tell us about it? It seems the engine has not been rebuilt in 30 years, which could be a worry some situation. Also there seems to be some holes in the front dash pad, do know what had been screwed in there?

    Thank you.

Since I sold #6243, I did some additional research on its history (something I probably should have done before I sold it).

#6243 was sold by the factory to Garages Foitek the then Lamborghini distributor for Switzerland. They sold #6243 to Touring Garage, Heinz Bader in Frick, Switzerland, who was a dealer that had purchased numerous other Lamborghinis from Foitek.

Bader sold #6243 in Oct 1968 to its first owner a Gunther Kraxner of Kirchberg, Switzerland about (60 miles from Frick). He passed away in the late 80s/early 90s. While #6243 passed through a couple of dealer/brokers, I was the 2nd registered owner of the #6243 in 2003.

I suspect that Mr. Kraxner pass away not long after the engine was rebuilt. The engine was strong with all cylinders within 10% of one another. There was no need to rebuild the engine, just a replacing of hoses, gaskets, belts, etc. There is a large stack of receipts that come with car.

As far as the 2 little screw holes, they are "NOT" in the dash pad, but at the top of the fascia of the center console. I have no idea what was mounted there, probably something personal that Mr. Kraxner's family kept when they sold the car. A couple of really small screw holes was not something that really bothered me. Something could easily be mounted there if it bothers the next owner.

If I didn't have a daughter going to college in the near future, I would still own it. Whomever buys it is getting a good car, and will be the 3rd owner.

#6243 sold at $137,500. If the standard 10 percent fees applied to both ends of the transaction, the hammer price was $125,000, and the seller received $112,500.

    Hi guys,
after 3 years, the frame and the body are fully restored in France... it was very long, but this is how it happens when you select an "artist" who works alone on seceral cars at the same time !

Next step : to bring it in UK for the building and fitting of a custom FIA rollcage...
