Noob mistake! (posted a link instead of actual pictures) Pictures added What do you all think? Is this 355 real or fake? I think it's real (I haven't seen it in person yet). If so, it's pretty much the most neglected 355 I've ever seen. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There are some other threads and pics of this car - I (and most) say it is a real 355 - not a fake - I could list the clues but no need really - aftermarket rims and the rear shot I saw the exhaust is obviously not original. No plates and apparently in a sketchy neighborhood. If you go check it out run the VIN and look it up on the 355 Registry. If you actually DO go look at it and get the VIN post it on here so everyone is updated
I agree, the massive layer of dust makes it look a bit kit car-ish, but I think it's real. A friend of mine found it, wants me to go with him to look at it again. I'll for sure post on here when I do go see it. He said it's in a pretty rough part of town and basically just out in the elements year round!
Here is a somewhat comparable angle of a definitely real 355 (mine) and the proportions and wheel arches seem ok to me on the black car Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'll put an offer on it if the owner doesn't put a gun in my face! Ha. At the very least I'll wash it for them. It definitely deserves that (if it's real).
Run the VIN before you do anything and make sure the title is in hand or obtainable from the bank. The whole thing is riddled with questions and risk so unless it is a great deal for a real car and one that at least runs etc. I would look elsewhere. There are a lot of no-drama 355s out there for sale - many in this forum. Just sayin - It aint worth gettin shot over or buying something you can't register or drive. Cheers and hope it all works out and ends up in a good home!
It's real. No way a "kit car" gets the outside rear view mirrors that correct....complete with the outside air temp sensor under the drivers side mirror. Has the clear front marker lights too....that's interesting. More interesting is the silver grill. That's usually black. Looks like it was stolen and then ditched at this location..... If you get the VIN please post it. This car might have more stories than mine!!
I'll for sure get the VIN, and in all seriousness I wouldn't buy this car even if it was real. If it's been this neglected on the outside I can only imagine how bad the drivetrain, interior etc are. I'll keep you all posted! Going to check it out tomorrow.
In pic #2 the rear wheel flare is very pronounced due to the shadow and the overexposed rear of the car. It looks correct...just an optical delusion
It's real. It looks like it's in a trailer park. Guns pointing at you (when you start asking too many questions) are a very real possibility. Run, Forest, Run...
Yep - Gotcha - I see it in pic #2 - I was looking at the rearward shots - Thanks for pointing it out. Sad to see a 355 - or any Ferrari for that matter - in this condition. I have the friends, funds and guns to go get it - just no place to keep it!!
I would. If the title was real, clean & clear.... why not? $15,000 is lot of money to guy that has a 1 car carport and owns a car that doesn't run. EDIT: In thinking about it, there might be $15k in cocaine buried in the interior. I am telling you it is a DEAL!
Was this it at FoD about 10 years ago, black GTS, same wheels, black interior...but different wheel centers, exhaust, and clear front signal lenses. Easy changes over 10 years. If so, it is real. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
