Interesting - Seems the wheels are starting to fall off that empire..... I guess he'll give India a wide berth in a couple of weeks! As for the team, I dunno - These guys have so much "off-shore" etc stuff going on I suspect they may not be affected - At least in the short term. Can't be good for morale however. Cheers, Ian
Which is why F1 is awesome to follow They can rename the team Onyx 2.0 Image Unavailable, Please Login
According to Blick the Incredible Hulk signed today with Sauber. Another great opportunity Ferrari let slip through its hands.
That's interesting. Could such a thing happen in the US? I mean, arrest warrants for company officers for something as trivial as unpaid bills. In the US I guess we'd just seize the corporate assets. Hopefully the team doesn't go away but gets taken over by someone. They actually were doing well. It'd be a shame to have them go and all the new teams remain. FChat-F1 anyone? <g> With all the armchair quarterbacks here we're guaranteed WCC!
Its slightly more than unpaid bills - they bounced checks effectively on the government - how does happy is the IRS if your taxes check bounces ?
Ouch. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Hopefully he can get things in order and cover those bounced checks. -F
Really doubtful the owenrship of the F1 team is the same as the airline. Different corporations, different officiers. So it would be difficult for any entity to go after the assets of the F1 team. Especially if the F1 team had a base out of India, such as England. Unless of course, they used really stupid lawyers. But then, with the airline losing money since day one, they had to know this day would come.
Hope that Mallya pulls out of the tailspin. My bet is that he will land on his feet. I like the fact that F1 has some successful entrepreneurs with personality running teams instead of just the big corporations. Cheers-Colin Firth Ontario Canada
+1 Except, there's not many "big corporations" competing right now........ "Swings & roundabouts" - They come & go. The "rogues" are pretty much the only constant..... Cheers, Ian
+1 Question becomes, is he quicker than Kobi? One of the more interesting pairings next year IMO. Cheers, Ian
