Could someone please give me some backround info on these. I know of a close friend's (he has a 2011 Turbo s) friend with a 918 edition version of the turbo s 997. I don't believe there was any significance to them besides the exclusivity. I was also wondering if you have that edition if that ment you bought the 918 as well? Thanks. Will posts pics later.

That's the silliest "special edition" 911 I've ever seen... naming one car after another? Why would you have Spyder on a hardtop?

    What's next, the F70 Edition.... of a 458 Italia?

Buyers who placed their deposits on the 918 list were given the option of buying the special edition 911 Turbo S in 918 Spyder livery. That's supposed to be the only way to get one. I suppose it gave prospective owners something to drive pending the rather long wait for the 918. It also signals that you are on the 918 list to envious onlookers (in the know).

At least Ferrari dealers only make you buy an FF, California or a Maserati Quattroporte in order to get a spot for the newest models.

50 years? In that time most electrical connectors, plastic circuit board's,so called leather will be dust. I hate to admit it but the cars of today wont last as long as the simple ones from the past.

I drove a couple turbo s cars a week or so ago, what a car, probably the best car I've driven.

PS...other than Zonda, Koenigsegg, etc...I've driven them all. Porsche has crammed a ton of engine in that little car.

I must say I quite like the livery.. I think at least in Europe, price was identical to Turbo S'.
And Turbo S is one hell of a car. It feels faster than 458 to me.

I driven both, and I love Ferrari, but the Turbo S is faster.

Quicker to 60 and even to 100mph and then 458 passes and leaves it behind.
Just look at their trap speeds at a 1/4 mile mark.
    911 is quicker,458 is faster......

On a day to day basis you probably get to enjoy "quicker" more than "faster," though!

Not that I would choose the Turbo S over a 458, unless I was looking for an all-weather type sports car (ie. lived in Canada).

As a 911 owner... I would never compare a 911 to a 458... Two different types of cars, IMO... Regardless of which is quicker/faster.

As 911's go this is probably the most desirable version. ( tacky sales technique but cool color and super rare)
