The driver's side window will not drop the one half inch so that the door is allowed to open. Worked normally, locked the car with the remote and now the window has to be lowered using the switch to enter the driver's side. Passenger's side is working normally

Reviewed the threads to find the solution, but nothing has worked so far. Latch micro switch is working properly.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

I am new to FC with a 575M purchased two months ago from FoSan Diego. My previous F cars are: 348tb, Testarossa, 355GTS. I must say the 575 is my favorite.

Serial and assembly number will be posted shortly when I introduce myself and my 575.

As I said in my original post....the driver window did not respond to any of the "fixes" that I found in this forum.....tried them all back to some posted in 2007.

Tried something new: rolled d/s window up with switch and exited passenger side. Used the OTHER remote to lock the car and let sit overnight. Unlocked today with same remote used to lock last night and d/s window dropped the one half inch. Appears to work correctly now.

Thanks for sharing. We now have another option. Suspect it's Ferrari's unique electronics, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.

I had the same problem on my previous 575 and IIRC it turned out to be a badly adjusted micro switch in the handle/ lock assembly

Yes, that's a common fault. The exterior one can cause the same issue.

The passenger window of 2003 575M 'forgets' to auto-drop, but it will always auto-raise.

When I open the passenger door with no auto-drop, I use the window switch to lower the window the designated amount, allowing the door to be safely closed followed by a correct auto-raise.
Having not yet pulling the door panel, I have determined that if I (1) fully lower the window and hold the switch in the 'lowering' position for five seconds and (2) fully raise the window and hold the switch in the 'raising' position for five seconds, the auto-drop (and auto-raise) will work using either the inside or outside passenger door handle, and will reliably do so 20+ times in a row.

THEN, when I leave the car for just a few minutes, like 5 minutes, the auto-drop always fails to perform whether using the inside or outside door handle. If I repeat the lower-and-hold and raise-and-hold technique, the auto-drop resumes functioning...and then the car promptly 'forgets' to auto-drop after a few minutes.
This does not 'feel' like a micro-switch problem to me (I've read plenty about those), but rather a grounding or ECU memory(?) problem.
This problem began slowly with the door erratically forgetting to auto drop. Now it always 'forgets' to auto-drop unless I do that trick of fully-down, fully-up.
I will eventually pull the door panel - but does anyone have pointers of what I should look for before I do in there? Anyone seen this before?

P.S. I tried the window ECU reset procedure I found under a 456 thread. It didn't do anything...the 575M didn't even flash its hazard lights. And the driver's side works properly.

Window control on the 575 is nothing like the 456. There is a single Window ECU under the dash/in the passenger footwell somewhere.

    See item #1

The box may be green or black.

The workshop manual doesn't mention a calibration/reset procedure.

Can't say I've heard of this issue before. As you say, it doesn't sound like a switch issue, but I can't think why the ECU would need to memorise anything related to the door opening window drop function. The drop function looks at microswitches (lock, outer door handle and latch microswitches)

My passenger window does not auto-drop, either. Will have to try your temp solution. Otherwise, Brian can fix it next spring.
