I love this car and just came across these pictures of it on a dyno. Does anyone know what it made at the wheels, if Im not mistaken the owner is a F-Chat member. Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
passing on dyno jet with the gas burned flow going straight on the garage door... I'm not sure about the dyno result sheet...
The front wing; I've seen it on a few cars. Was that a lamborghini option? Or an aftermarket? I always liked it; some don't. Thanks Kevin
It was born in the USA by compliance agents trying to be clever with DOT mandates, and fulfill the low-speed crash regulations. Accordingly, the effects upon the car's stability at 150 mph were not tested.
Besides being uglier than a mud fence it makes opening the trunk quite a bit more difficult. Considering that it wasn't "born" at the factory, it would be one of the first things to go if it were my car.
'Uglier than a mid fence'...lol...never heard that before. That's why I wondered if it was factory authorized. If it was a dot issue, why is it only on a few cars? I like the car either way though....
Seems like the treatment varied depending on who, when or where it was "federalized". I'll bet a few were returned to stock as soon as they were out of sight of the Feds.
Final question - was that a factory designed wing? Or purely aftermarket. Curiosity is killing me today Kevin
I'm not a big fan of the rear wing, but I do like the looks of both front & rear wings on. Especially this one! From what I've heard, the front wing is not very good aerodynamically. Perhaps it is adjustable, but I've heard it can produce lift in addition to plenty of drag. It also has shock absorbers (since it is really a fancy looking number) so not sure how effective adjustments would be. Imo, its a brilliant idea to get around the hideous mandated bumpers, especially in a country with 55 mph speed limits
Where shall I begin? The car was photographed on the Dyno at my previous shop. My staff and I restored the car. The cars owner is a member here. The car was tuned on the Dyno, I don't believe it was run at WOT for HP numbers. The garage door was closed for that picture, the wheels were only going about 30mph. www.gcm-autoitalia.com
fantastic restore: a legend comes to new life, congrats! Could you tell us some about this restore and car? ciao
Albert, Did you get to see Tony's website specially for the "Cannonball Countach"? It pretty cool. Gives a brief history, restoration details, etc... http://www.cannonballcountach.com/ Hope all is well, Mike
Thank you very much! I should take home my scrap today or saturday... i'm waiting for a call from the shop... ciao
Thank you. I moved and expanded my business in November of 2011. The website is junk and the Cannonball section is not finished. I will get more pictures up soon, here are a few for now...
