    I've search the forum but didn't find a specific thread that mentioned what might be a general consensus on what is the currently recommended brake fluid for a 1998 355F1.

    The owner's/workshop manuals state the original fluid as Fiat Tutela Extreme 5.

    From what I can determine it's a Dot 4 Synthetic.

    It seems like a Dot 5.1 would be a better choice today.

    FOD uses Valvoline VPS Synthetic but I can't find any info on it.

    Does anyone have a specific brand that they can recommend?

    The last time I took it to the track I experienced some pretty severe brake fade and am thinking I should do a complete flush and refill. I have no idea when or if it was ever done before.

    Unless you are doing serous track work with r-compounds or slicks, ATE super blue/gold is just fine (changed once a year.)

    If you are douing serious track work, then you would be looking for a DOT-4 with a dry boiling point over 550dF. {LMA. Wilwood, Brembo 64T, super DOT 610,...) Just google "high temperature brake fluid" for other options.

    No serious track work, just a few times per year. I'm looking for something that will work well in that situation and hold up for a long time between fluid changes. I'd like to go as long as possible between changes.

    I did a little research myself and agree that the Motul RBF 600 seems like a good choice for regular street driving and a little track use.
