I agree that there is no micromanaged conspiracy.
My question is what about stopping on track before running low on fuel constitutes a FM.

Apparently they claimed the stop was because of a problem with the fuel cell itself. To which the FIA said "ok we accept that". But when they couldn't produce a full liter for analysis there was no way around that.

Given the billions of $ involved it is impossible to be ethical.

Nor does it have to. I'm ok with what's going on, just don't be so naive to take it at face value.

Why?. RB deliberately did not put enough fuel in the car. Again no way a many million dollar event per car would be accidentally short fuelled. They know exactly how much fuel is required per lap, etc. So I ask why would they do that?

And yes McLaren did it, but that does not mean stupidity keeps happening.

If there was not enough fuel in the tank that removes the option that Vettel stuffed his lap and they wanted to gain an advantage by altering his car instead of having him stuck mid pack, thus we are down to:

    So either:
    1. REMOVED, as apparently (if we believe the FIA) the car did not have enough fuel.
    2. They wanted to increase entertainment, or
    3. REMOVED, as apparently (if we believe the FIA) the car did not have enough fuel.
    4. The car had a fault that needed to be fixed so they deliberately short fulled it before his last attempt in Q3. While originally I didn't think this made sense but when you think of the first lap risks to car damage when starting mid pack, I think RB took the safe view and started him from the pits to ensure he got away cleanly (and yes Vettel then manged to damage his wing anyway).

+1, although I'm not so okay with it but I do understand the need since it is now a TV show not sport.

I like how monumentally stupid screw-ups are now referred to as "a Felipe Massa" around here. Perfect!

I'll shout it out again (duplicated from post #25 which Pete ignored it seems ;))

There are no, none, zero, nada, conspiracies in F1 today.

    +1

I remember Horner mumbling something along those lines...... The stewards accepted their claim of FM after studying the telemetry - Reason(s) for acceptance are obviously rarely disclosed of course. But Charlie not getting his full liter (he only got 850mL) was their downfall.

Bull-****ing-****! They simply made a mistake. They push the limits all the time, and in this case they went too far. Simple as that.

You don't honestly believe they figured they had a better chance of winning the race starting in last place do you? Sure, they reconfigured the car (as permitted by the rules) but that's just because they're good at what they do.

    Cheers,
    Ian

Why, thank you Bas...... I prefer post #25 as it has more questions. But it's all good. ;)

    :p :D [FWIW, older, yes, more distinguished - Debatable. ;) ]

i ignored it because I don't believe it. Todt is no saint, why do we think just because Mosley has gone we no longer have "things" happening. It is Bernie that is the main dodgy character.
yes, versus starting mid pack. Read about how the aero works on the RB and Webber could not pass not just because he is useless but because he had the wrong setup.
