Glad I read this. I was looking at that car online too.... price seemed too good to be true... more in line with what a coupe would go for.

This car is back on Ebay. C
I was in Miami in Jan of 2014. I looked at a car that was a TDF stick. I can't remember the year of the car but the owner lived in South miami. I went to his house his name was Gabriel. I'm trying to find out is this the same car as this.
In Jan of 2014, Darin the sales manager at Black Horse motors in Naples Fl told me that he knew of a TDF stick but it needed so much work he didn't buy it. SO now I wonder were there two TDF sticks in the Miami area in Jan of 2014 or is this car on ebay the same.
Any information anyone can give would be helpful.
    Thanks

I flew to Utah w a back back to purchase a 1 owner car, most dealers in Miami have let's say below than average cars, and that's being kind. Speaking of that dealership which I have visited I wouldn't surrender a nickel to them ! Arrogance and just plain ignorance is what I found out the very short time spent there, couldn't see myself wasting more than 5 minutes there.

Wow, I'm more amazed that you were prepared to buy it with no service history at all. Service history is paramount especially if its had alot of owners.

If a ferrari has a sketchy service history / records then dont touch it. Good owners look after their cars and keep service history / records to prove it.

And the reason it's cheap is because it's a heap of bills waiting to happen.

Not to mention also that you didnt even see the car or visit the dealer before agreeing a price....WOW

    WOW

I do that at times ... agree to a specific price, then when the PPI works out we go with it...if not..time to haggle some more. Nothing wrong with that.

Florida and Texas are the only two states in all fifty that do not have a salvage or rebuilt title process, so they are perfect for dealers looking to sell "story" cars. Florida in particular has a pretty high focus of customers for exotic cars, especially South beach and surrounding. This breeds more people/dealers because of the regional demand. Add the natural disaster frequency that is also in FL and you have the perfect storm for edgy cars. It doesn't mean that FL cars are all bad, or all FL dealers are bad, it just means a little more caution is necessary in a purchase.

Your are right, however Florida over the past few years has been issuing more "certificates of destruction" as oppose to "salvage" making the cars impossible to repair/reconstruct in the USA and they become parts cars or export only.

Glad to hear it, there should be a similar thing for the other 49, I've seen some salvage title stuff that should never have been put back on the road.

+1, without service history, the OP is putting a LOT of weight on a PPI, which can offer a good indication, but is never definitive on condition. I have also had Ferraris I am considering purchasing, inspected by a body shop guy...just pay to have him drop by to give it a once over. Well worth it, and reassuring.

This car should have marks all over it from the 10 foot poles... ;)
