The 412 isn't remarkable, but the whole design is at odds with the sideview mirrors it's saddled with. Remove those and it's a very elegant design that is (if I remember right) basically a Daytona underneath. The 612 and Enzo are growing on me. 430 is awful, 360 is great. This has never changed. I don't envy the owners of these, however. Started as a Maser, aborted late term and forced into production with a PF remodel and a name it could never live up to. So bad.. It's hard to find a bad Pininfarina design. In general they have a mode cohesive look than the others...kind of the polar opposite of Ghia. But this looks more like a Facel Vega (or God forbid, a Rover) and the rear is awkward. A stunning car, but not a very pretty one. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The car is 365 GTC s/n 12111 and the color is non-orginal to the car (original colors were Blu Ribot with orange leather). I believe this color is Verde Oliva Metallizzato (metallic olive green), a color more commonly seen on Alfas and Fiats of the day, but it could just as well be any modern concoction. I agree, though, it is very flattering color for the GTC!
Is it a vert or a cab? And the 456 is "dull",innit? To look at,anyway...I'll wager to drive,it's pretty fun. And that shooting brake thing,in the same pic,it's,with kindness, awful. But cheers, RE
There was a 599 seen regularly in Knightsbridge London in that colour. IIRC it belongs to the owner of Harrods and has a Novitec Rosso Twin Turbo conversion. Owner had a number of supercars in same colour.
I've heard those names too. I assumed they were unofficial. At best pininfarina designations not official Ferrari models.
QV convertible. Coupe is fine, later 3.2 is fine. This one just doesn't do much for me at all. Image Unavailable, Please Login
While in Maranello last month these were on display.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, "Venice" was the Pininfarina name for the project. Somewhere around here I have more information on PF's naming of these damned things, but I don't know where it is at the moment. Anyway, I don't have a whole lot of interest in (comparatively) modern Ferraris and have a particular dislike for the styling of these bastardized 456 GTs, so call them whatever you like.
Thanks. While I like the retrained looks of the 456 these versions don't hold much more than oddity interest.
Last one (the 4-door) is the Ferrari Pinin. More info here http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2010/05/ferrari-pinin-the-four-door-ferrari-that-was-almost-built/.
