    All...

in the area indicated by the ellipse... Is this easily removed to fix a dent?
I don't have my car in this position yet but want to sort out a dent up there and before I go pulling the bumper I want to know that part can be taken off or the repair done on the car.

    Thanks.

It's welded on to a 355 mate, so it's the same as the 348.
Of course it can be removed with a drill and grinder, then re weld the strip back. But then this becomes a bigger job than first planed.

I was afraid that was the case. I need to get a dent removed and didn't want to take the entire car in if possible.
Maybe I'll get the headlamp section I screwed up and the dent in the rear with a small crack in the paint fixed while it's there.

I've done more damage to the darn car myself by doing stupid things than anything else.

It is welded and if I remember correctly screwed in several places.

I remeber my mechanic's tech trying to do this one time and found it was not "cost effective" to remove it.

It is welded from the factory. There are spot welds but it is hold in place by bolts that you can see in your link. So you can cut and than put it back in place but it will be known that it was ones off the car.

Any bodyman worth his salt can fix any imperfections in that panel without removing it.

True. But is the case here that he doesn't want a zero added to the end of the bill for admitting to the body shop that it's for a Ferrari? I imagine it'd be far cheaper to say: "take the dent off this piece of detached bodywork" than it would be to say "take the dent off this Ferrari".

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I tried this on my Solstice on a few dents on the trunk and it worked....took out about 90% of the dent. I used a hair dryer though...

    YMMV

    Agreed on the Ferrari tax.
I also wanted to try to avoid some one trying to paint the hood, the fender etc.
