    Hi all
I’ve got a XDI Direct Fire Ignition system ready to install, but I’m a bit reluctant to do this before the trip down through Italy. I’m worried about getting a problem with it and then not being able to fix it or get parts etc. I don’t want to carry the distributors with me. Is it a reliable kit or not ?.

It is rock steady if it is installed correctly. I have used it for more than a year now with absolutely no issues. Make a seach for some good installation hints and you will not regret.

    Enjoy your trip down south.

    Best regards Peter

I've been running an HPV-1 (ancestor to your XDI) for about 15 years now without a single hiccup. As stated previously, it needs to be installed correctly.

Thanks all, I'll set about getting it installed. I don't have much ells to do on the car this winter so it should keep me occupied for a while. It should be easy to install some kind of a anti theft switch into the system, the wife recons it will get nicked when we're down in Amalfi !!

I have had a XDI system for a little over a year. It has worked flawlessly except for one issue.

On one of the first couple of drives on the highway, my car just stopped. For some reason, I never found out what caused it, the trigger wheel shifted on the damper. Very strange. The trigger wheel was realigned and it has worked flawlessly since.
