Oh wow...I never even thought to look for a section like that on fchat. I was actually posting here instead of the model forum I usually go to just for a change & looking for different feedback from Countach owners/enthusiasts as opposed to model builders...

I suppose I should ask first to see if there is any interest in following something like this?

Wouldn't have seen it if it was on another thread. Good luck with the model.

  8. Oh yeah. I have the same model.

Keep in mind I am far from being a pro model builder...
Painted block with primer, then matte aluminum, misted with satin white & then brush painted over some areas with Testors aluminum. On the cam covers I masked the centers, sprayed a textured paint, then satin black to give them a wrinkle finished appearance. Then I used bare metal foil to cover the center section, brush painting over it, then carefully scrapping away the paint from the lettering. This does look better in person, as pics seem to exaggerate the texture on the covers...

Need some help. I am wondering what the gold colored part is, behind the air con compressor, in this pic. (not my model)
The "LP500S" version of this kit has some additional parts, this being one of them. I don't believe I've seen a Countach engine with this part, so should I leave it off?
    Thanks

:) I had considered this, but there is lack of space for a factory style shield. I was going to make a "wrap" style from cigarette pack foil, but decided it would look better without it. Of coarse to see the starter after its all assembled, one has to really be looking for it!

Looks great! I might buy this kit. How hard is it to make and do you suggest buying it?

Thanks! Yes, I do recommend this kit as it is very detailed and the parts are very nice & fit together quite well. I guess the difficulty would depend on your own model building experience. The main thing is to take it slow & plan everything out. There are approx 500 parts in the kit itself.
The cons would be mainly that the shape of the body is off (as seen on the box photos) but this is not nearly as noticeable in person. The direct side view is the worst. There is also no tolerance for paint, so any paint can cause fitment issues.
I like it enough that I have a few more in my stash ;)

I like a good challenge so it should be perfect for me. I am bidding on an unopened one one ebay and I think I'll end up with it. Thanks for the reply!

I have a question...there is a part that attaches to the left side of the firewall, which looks like a have sphere, with a fitting. Looks like maybe a vacuum canister but I'm not sure. Does anybody know what it is & if there are lines attached & where they go? Pics would be great. I have a couple diagrams but they don't show this part.
    Thanks!

P.S. making progress on fuel lines. Might have to scratch build a pump. I plan on building this one with air filter boxes off, so some items might become a bit more visible...

  21. Fuel filter/pressure regulator, and a brake vacuum canister is stuffed in there.

Thanks! I guess I might be making the fuel regulator, which I was thinking was a pump. I think I'll add a line to the vacuum canister & run it to a hidden area...
