Interesting and saw today. Entire Kevlar suitcase area gone to replace with bigger radiators and fans. Front is fixed with clips and when removed leaves the central painted vent part of the bonnet fixed to the body, so in effect the front bonnet is U shaped when removed, the fill for the U being the central vent to the bonnet remaining fixed.

I am not sure if this is the same car. But i remember reading about the Hartman (or Hamann) tuned F40 back in the early 2000. (http://www.ferrariturbo.com/Pictures/F40HamannPictureslarge/f40hamann004.jpg).
IT was later painted in a light blue and was seen at Essen Motor Show before being repainted in red.

I think the SN is 84326

Tims new car has the typical LM front clam on it, with the big double headlights. The car in the pic uses the original F40 clam but modified. I have a photo of the one you show in a museum somewhere.

Yes, the blue was not a good choice. But i remember reading about that car when it was for sale on carclassic.com. It said the car was making 720hp and would lap SPA faster than a Mclaren F1 (I wonder if they ever timed both cars..).

They seem to have used it to lap the Hockenheim track with it :

I think this is your car :

Do you know when it got the F40 LM front bonnet installed?

I guess it reverted back to proper LM bodywork and wheels when it had the repaint, even the rear clam is now the strengthened LM version

Many thanks Paul, all incredibly useful in building the history. I would never have found any of this without this forum so thanks to all. Makes my recent acquisition even more exciting were that possible!

Just to show the current interior which clearly shows its heritage. this is where much work is needed without removing the racing patina. Huge red foglight mounted to the left of the wheel and just visible through the wheel as a warning if you lose oil pressure so as to avoid total detonation!

I think this car was at Le Mans parade a few years ago.
Somewhere I should have some photos...
If this car was raced in a real championship there must be more photos of this car.

Tim, I'm sure your new beast appeared in either Fast Car magazine or Max Power many years ago, I'm away from home until Christmas but I will look through the archives and see if I can find them for you.

Too much for me! I will track the car but not race it, that way we both have a chance of staying in one piece. As a standard car, which I had in 89 directly from Enzo, I might have emerged in one piece, take away 150 kilos and add 250 BHP and I see trouble!

Car was seen at Le Mans in 2007.

And was at Modena motorsports day in July 2003, not sure if Nurburgring or hockenheim. Uwe meissner might know more about the car.

It may have been a late entry (no sale) car May 2000 at Brooks Monaco. But not in the catalogue.

This car could be the same one as raced at Italia a Zandvoort in the early 90's
