    Many of you have seen my add on FerrariAds for my 1981 400iA #36637. Many of you have commented on the photographs I posted on this chat room and here http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/11527125_K6XwmQ with password "ortho1".

    But only M. Paul Dubois from f400club.com noted that an enterprising German reseller copied the images, translated the entire advertisement, and put the car up for sale in Europe for roughly $35,000 dollars, a sizable premium over my asking (I reduced the price to $25,000 give or take). Needless to say, I had no idea he was doing this and my name is nowhere on the advertisement. That said, I applaud my friend's capitalist ways and wish him luck in his endevours. In the meantime, the car remains for sale stateside (or in Europe) for the lower price.

    Well I don't like this kind of adds. Living in Germany and speaking german, I can tell you some more details about. There is for sure some kind of premium, but the seller includes shipping costs and taxes in the price ... and not to forget he will support the buyer :)

    Oh yes, I got one of those too...
    very long diatribe from a man who is traveling and will have his agent send the money very soon if I'll simply send an account number and all that...
    All very interesting.

    Stefano,

    You should be happy about this advertisement. The guy will contact you whenever somebody likes to buy the car in Germany or Europe, you will get the money you ask for and he has all the trouble with shipping it, get it custom cleared and deliver it.

    Of course would be nicer to ask your permission first before he tries to sell your car and have an agreement about the price.
