I must confess I have grown to like Will Buxton too. A very wry, yet typical, British sense of humour.
Who is your provider? I have DIRECT TV and have NBC SPORTS on channel 220. When in Austin for the race our host had DISH and no SPEEDTV yet possibly it could have been ordered.
It's highly likely that when Hobbs and Machette were interviewed for the NBC job, they were asked who they wanted in the booth with them, and who might be good in the pits. Ed
I do too. I like the outakes they show of him, he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously, which is a good thing. I have to say, I was a bit surprised, but he definitely pulled off that cowboy hat well.
I connect to the TV when I need to, the quality should be as good as the lap top quality I think. Connect the cable, and the lap top will realize it, if not press function key and F7 obviously select the PC channel on your TV, and you should be good to go, I also connect the audio line out, to my music centre.
He's on a MacBook. It's not necessarily the pc input on his tv, depends how he connects. Could be hdmi, dvi, or VGA. I'm not sure what year MacBook he has, but if its 09-10 he will have Mini DisplayPort, and will need to get an adapter to whatever input he has on the tv, most likely hdmi. One thing though, the 09 and older MacBooks don't support audio out through the display port, so you will need an audio cable to your tv/receiver. If the MacBook is any older than that, it will have mini dvi or dvi, and that's a different adapter. 386?? Whoa
Breaking News: NBC to announce veteran F1, sports car and V-8 supercars host Leigh Diffey along with legendary racer, commentator and bon vivant David Hobbs, plus former Grand Prix mechanic and technical guru Steve Matchett as the three-man team leading coverage from the booth.
I've thought about that too, but where else can you get almost the entire 24 hrs of Le Mans? Other than that, there is little Speed can offer me without F1....
Speed would have to air the final Debrief at 10 pm on Saturday night. I'll probably DVR it, should be a good show. I have no doubt the 2013 announce team can do a great job, although I have serious doubts about the quality of the coverage and amount and content of commercial interruptions by NBC.......
Great last DEBRIEF, I enjoyed it immensely. The Speed Guys did a fantastic job; loved the highlights from all the Speed years. Thank you and good luck in the future.
+1 Shame seeing Sam looking so sketchy. Best wishes to 'em all. FWIW, the upcomg "Leigh, Steve, David & Will" show must be one of the most experienced (remote) broadcast teams in the business by now. Hopefully, NBC will get behind 'em, listen to their experiences and improve the whole thing. Please, no haters here either. They're not the BBC, but be thankful for small coverage! Cheers, Ian
I believe so. Can't remember where I read/heard it but I think that's the lineup. Dunno about Sam so much - I suspect they may have him do his "perspective" piece every now and then. But man, he looked sick - He'd obviously made a huge effort to get up on that stage to say good bye. Best wishes to him and all of 'em. Cheers, Ian
It was great. I wish, however, they would have done a 2-hour special. I mean 17 years and only 1 hour? That left me disappointed a bit. I want to say Buxton said something on his twitter but I can't remember where I read he's going to NBC. As for the all foreign cast, I don't think it will really bother anyone. Sure seems odd to not have an American, but as long as it's good it should matter.
