Guys, We are in final days of a complete restoration of chassis 416. BTW, Matthais has been extremely helpful with all the little details. We lost the two Sun Visor Clips somewhere along the way getting them rechromed and need replacments. Attached is what they looked like before removing from the car. Anyone have a pair or know of a source or other car they may have been used? Any help would be super Image Unavailable, Please Login

Really nice work, very early L-series and nice color, original? What shape was the car in when you got it? Did you replace the steering wheel with the later one? Andrew
Extremely bad condition. High level of corrossion and we pulled it out of a Police Impound lot where it had been confiscated and involved in a lawsuit. The owner really got screwed. He had taken it to another "so called" Ferrari shop that did not pay their rent. Landlord locked the building and siezed all contents. The Dino was his prize. When we picked up the car, the motor was out and scattered all over the place in pieces. The chassis had been sitting out in the elements. I'll send some before and after.
Here's a few before restoration and a few of during the assembly phase. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
No we did not replace the steering wheel. That is as original only restored. We sent the entire Interior to Modena and had it restored and shipped back. Charcoal carpet is no longer available, so we went black. Original seat inserts were Red Cloth, we went back with black leather. Everything else is original. According to our German friend Matthias, this "L" may be closer to any other to the 206. Interior is exact 206 except leather wrapped wheel. Lots of other things on the car were not "L" variant but 206 variant. Only thing we really deviated from is exterior color. This car was originally Swiss and was Bianco "white". I can't blame the client for not wanting the Dino Blue Metallic. We received it in some sort of Chevy corvette light metalic blue with bottom half of sides painted black like a Boxer.
Thanks....we bought quite a bit from those guys. Some correct for restoration, some not. So have some parts for anyone not wanting "pefect" original like badges, radiator hose that runs length of car, and other odds and ends. Will probably stick the stuff on eBay.

That's a sad story. It's great the car was salvaged and being restored. It's an interesting transition car, it would have one of the first L-series steering wheels installed. I was surprised it is original. The gear knob is 206, there are alot of 206 parts as you said. I'm sure you have documented this car given it's probably unique. Andrew
need a part # for my '71 #1582 Bosch I have a lot of original parts as your's does parked in 1982 clay
Clay- English? you occasionally post interesting & lucid comments but the mastery of the language continues to evade you. What exactly are you trying to say?
Can I make request. Could everyone try not to use 'trade speak', collaqualisms and abbreviations as often I read a post and can't understand what's been said. Which sort of defeats the object of the forum. Chris
I think what he is asking for is what is the Bosch part no for the Voltage regulator for his 1971 Dino with chassis #1582 I don't have the "official" parts manual for the 71 M version but I believe it is not a Bosch unit at all as it is the same as the "L" version and would have been delivered with either the big black FIAT or Motorola unit. See Matthias's book page 181 for the Fuse and relays for the M series. I highly recommend Dino Compendium, great resource our German friend put together.
Who is the supplier for those wire type hose clamps in the photo of the engine. There are large ones and small ones on the fuel pump plumbing
Hello David. Can you tell me the source of the long oil hose (from the lower base of the oil filter to the oil cooler) ?. Regards, Alvaro
sorry been out of pocket finishing car. We delivered two weeks ago. Superformance has the large ones. The small ones are a combo of original angst pfister and some I special ordered from France. I'll have to get you source after holidays.
I made them. They are very similar to the Argus hoses used on the Porsche factory race cars (917 and RSRs) which I have been rebuilding with special tools I made for years. The 206 and correct L version hoses are unavailable. If you have originals, send them to us and we can rebuild them. I have to have original hose end fittings so if you don't have them, can't help.
Does somebody know another supplier for wire hose clamps? I have seen very nice hose clamps and can't remember :-( The hose clamps I have seen looked more original.
But I know that their is somebody that still produces these wire hose clamps!!! BMW for example uses these kind of hose clamps for their WSB motorcycles ... if you compare the original wire hose clamps with the "superformances" one, you will notice the difference I'm talking about.
There is no doubt they are different than original as we have some of the originals that were still on the car which we restored and put back (heater hoses) Trust me if we could find them, they would be on the car. I spent countless hours on the phone, emails and searching the web for months. Superformance does not have the small ones either. From all of my research these were special made for mfg. according to several double wire clamp manufacturers I spoke with......
