Neither are investments at their current respective values. One is a liability, the other a potential liability.

Hah, funny. Pretty sure if you put 125k into an f430 now and 125k into AAPL that you'd end up in the green on the 2nd one more often that you would with the first :)

That depends on how much you value the fun dividends you get with the F430.

In the last 3 months I think one of those AMG Mercs would have been better depreciation wise, and those things drop like rocks.

Consider that Apple and Ferrari are the only two companies in the world whose new products are awaited with great publicity and expectations by an army of followers and enthusiasts. Consider also that both were founded and developed by men who were driven by their vision and who were far from nice people. We have seen that Ferrari has survived the passing of its founder and has maintained its mystique and prospered. The jury is out on Apple.

I saw something the other day that said the new head of apple is bringing manufacturing and or assembly back to the US.

While I think this is a very admirable thing to do and good for our country, I am not sure that this will help apple. I fear the quality may decline and cost to manufacture will go up, therefore hurting the stock.

You may be right about its not being a cost effective move, or it might be all show, no go.
Also you have to understand that Apple has now become a political target in the US, merely because they are a hugely successful corporation. They join the ranks of other such hated successes such as Wal-Mart, ExxonMobil, and Merck. In the modern era of US politics, anyone who is successful has been able to do so only because the game is rigged. The government is there to set it straight, don't you know.
