Must be an old geezer driving... Right turn signal on the whole run! :D

That said, I'm not a fan of engine swaps except for old school hot rods. That said, to each his own. :)

With the time and $ iI have into my clutch replacement I could have probably pulled off a LS-1 conversion, but where would be the fun in that I ask myself.

I figured you guys could shed some light on this matter. I am thinking of doing a short documentary of the Jalpa, since I've seen a ton of them and driven one.

I want to make sure I get the facts straight. Some sources say that 410 of them were made, other sources say 421.

Also, was the Jalpa in production from 1981-89?

    Thanks!

    Chris

If memory serves me correct, the first Jalpa's went on sale to the public in 1982. It was built through 1988.

I had always heard 410 total cars, but like you have seen the 421 number as well.

    I had #071 for almost 7 years.

There's really 421 chassis number but how many car really producted? the first one became the first Jalpa spyder (now in Tonino's museum) but an other car was tranformed in spyder and never endded, there's a complete body that we can see in the photo of the factory scrapyard (white body with different panel between engine and inside) it'll be nice to know all the car producted to see if some number does't be a car, thanks to the great job done by Raymond with is registry, one day we can expect to have the answer...

Roy sold it for me back in 2009 before I bought the Countach. It is now in the hands of someone in Texas (posts over on the other site). Last I heard he had the engine out doing a rebuild, new exhaust, etc...

Thank you for the replies, I appreciate it! It seems that some of the facts are not entirely known and are hard to come by. It's not a huge deal, because the purpose of this video is to turn people on to the Jalpa, since it's not a very widely known car. It's not really for Lambo purists. Thanks for the help!

    John,

I would be willing to sell car 382. I replied to your email and PM.

At least 411 of them unless my other car is a figment of my imagination :)

The mostly accepted number is 421 and a lot, but not all of them are documented on Raymond's site jalpa.ch

I said earlier in his thread that the vin seems to be the focus of attention for the majority whereas it is the number of bodies that determines how many cars were produced ie no body no car!

421 is simply the potential number of vins but it cannot be assumed that they were all issued!

That car does look good with the Silhouette wheels. That's one car I haven't seen yet that I really want to see.

Our favorite selling on Ebay and the answers to questions on his Jalpa auction. These are his real answers... too funny. Tom is that you at top question here or maybe Geno?

Hello-- Interested in the car and needing a little more info - I currently have an '83 and a 84 version, so I'm a little familiar with these.. Just a few questions... ;)many thanks in advance- What do we know about the history of the car - where was it before, and how long have you had it? Any chance of finding the original motor for it, or what happened to the engine? Is the transmission or diff around? Appears to have multiple body panels - was there significant body damage at one point? And more on the logistical side: Is the title work current? Or will I need to get a new title? I am in CO and would be headed down to pick up the car - can it rest there for a couple days or a week after the auction to get a trailer there? Again, many thanks, Jason Any spare parts included? Dec-19-12
    A: Hello

Q: Hi, Did it have the engine and transmission in it when you got it or is it available somewhere? Thanks. Dec-19-12
    A: Hi

Q: How is the interior of the car. And is the wiring in tact Dec-19-12
A: Wiring is complete. Interior is fine. No damage.
