I want to swap the seats out in the 348tb I have. Any ideas as to what will fit?
Most racing seats can be made to fit but it depends what you are aiming for This feels like a question that has been asked and answered before so its probably worth a look
I had a problem with my race seats and size. The basic bolt holes underneath should fit the runners from your standard seats but I found that was then too high for me. I have since fitted race seats in 348 and 355 with side mounts and new reinforced mountings which means I loose the adjustment but get a better fit and stronger mounts for harness and seat.
I asked the same question with very few answers. The problems are several: 1. The mounting holes for the 348/355 are two vertical in the back, and two horizontal in the front. There is no standard mounting brackets that offer that pattern. 2. The area where the driver seat (US) fits can only take up to 20 inch width because of the handbrake. That also limits the number of seats that will fit. The result is that some level of customization and fabrication will be required. Unless you find a set of racing seat from the 348 Serie Speciale, nothing will drop in.
I think you'll find the mounting holes you mention are on the seat runners not the seats themselves, these are in turn bolted to the underside of the seats in same places as race seats which here usually have underseat and side mount bolt holes. I reckon if under say 5' 10" and dont use helmets any time may get away with it, you just need to be careful with the rake. What I was always unhappy about was the small diameter of these runner fitting bolts, especially when you think the rear seat belt mounts are direct into the seat, uk models anyway. So a standard much larger seat belt bolt relying on a much smaller runner bolt for the starin on both belt and seat when in accident. I presume they had to go through crash testing at some point, but just doesnt seem up to job in my mind.
