What can you really do about it? There is a 355 spyder 6speed down in castle rock Colorado at a dealer. It has been for sale for at least two years now and the price has always been at 73,000. Now at this point it seems it is overpriced especially since the major was back in 07.
    Am I wrong?

A shady guy in an Escalade at a traffic light once offered me $75k for my 355, I'm sure somebody will pick it up!

Frustrating I'm sure, but an owner is entitled to ask whatever they want, whether it will sell or not is completely another matter, but again its their business to wait for a punter offering mutually agreable money for as long as they can afford to wait.

Have you expressed an interest and tried an offer, they won't be mind readers?

We would put a nice car on the showroom floor just to bring people in. No intention on selling it just a looker

+1, not sure how it impacts the OP, who cares what someone lists a car for unless you want to buy it. I am confused on why people get upset with what people ask for their cars, it is their car they can ask what they want for it. If you want it, make an offer, if you don't move on to another if you are in the market for one. If you are not in the market for one, why do you care. Life is too short to get worked up over what someone asks for their car.

I'd make an offer. If you don't get it, the offer may have been too low.

It's amazing how people who sell Ferraris and Ferrari parts are completely oblivious to the offer/demand that is dictated by the market.

In a way, I admire their arrogance, they just don't care whether it sells or not...they want their price and that's it!

I see some eBay auctions with parts that have been listed on there for 2+ years and they always keep it the same price. Perhaps one day it will sell....same goes for cars, they seem to sit at dealers for a really really long time.

There is a pinball backglass on Ebay that has been there since at least 2004, the guys is asking as much as the entire game is worth in top condition. Every now and then he adds more pictures or discussion points and it remains unsold. He has to have paid a ton in listing fees. For anything that isn't a one of a kind item, there is always another one out there.

    Here is the theory.

The money in the bank is getting at best 1% ....so selling it at 71 next year to a Forrest Gump is better than selling it last year at 55k.

This is the story for most of the overpriced cars at dealers.

I'm completely opposite of these people I tend to start off low just so I can move it quick.
