Have been casually shopping for a Vantage for about 6 months now, and have found a couple I am thinking about finally making an offer on. Does anyone have access to recent Manheim numbers for 06-08 V8 Vantages? Any other price data points? Just trying to get a feel for the spread between asking and actual sales prices.

For example, I am seeing 06's advertised from high 50's to mid 60's...what should I expect that these are actually changing hands at?

Nothing on the books for an '07 since Atlanta in May 2012.

I'll look at others when I have time, or someone else may chime in...

Good info. Thanks! If anyone has any numbers on the 06's or 08's I'd love to see those too.

Also, if anyone has any personal experience with buying or selling one in the last year or so I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Vantage market. It seems like there are a lot for sale at any given time, but there also seems to be a lot of turnover and movement, so apparently they are actively selling at a good clip.

I privately sold my 08 V8V with 9k miles last year for around $79k but it was a limited Nurburgring Edition.
If you can stretch to an 09 4.7l I'd highly recommend it, as the torque is much improved.

I could stretch to a 4.7, but on the other hand I think I would prefer to take the difference I'd save and save it up to eventually put towards that E-type I've always wanted, or maybe the 360 my wife wants for herself! ;)

The main one I have my eye on right now is an '06 with the factory Power Pack and the sport exhaust. I believe that combo gives it about 20-25 extra HP and torque compared to stock 4.3L car.

In general, I have been looking for an 07-08, just to hopefully avoid any first-year gremlins, and I like the later style seats a bit more. But, I really like the color combo on this car, it has all the options I am looking for (premium audio, bright grille, 19 inch wheels, red calipers, xenons), and the Power Pack is a nice bonus.

If you are buying a pre-2009, the stick shown in the pics you attached will be better than the Sportshift, IMHO. That said, I would encourage you to test drive an '09. The 4.7L engine is much more responsive than its predecessor. If you do go with the Sportshift, the later models are much smoother when shifting, particularly from 1st to 2nd. Regardless of the model year, the transmission likes the higher rpm’s and shifting is much better above 4,000. Besides, that is when the pipes open up and you get that glorious sound!!!

The Power Pack is a good bonus, and certainly the manual is a must if you can find one.

How many miles are on the car?
Make sure you peruse the interior carefully - there are a lot of small things that got missed when I was looking at a car. Driver bolster wear, side sill scratches, door trim
Make sure you check the fuel cap lid - it is know to get stuck.
Check the swan doors that they stay in position when you open the door - when the gas strut gets old, the door will self shut.
Test drive for any creaks or rattles - tend to happen on British handbuilt cars.

The car I pictured has about 21K miles. I am ONLY considering 6 speed manual cars. For one, I prefer manuals in general no matter the car, and have heard absolutely nothing positive about the paddle gearbox in the Vantage.

Good tips on things to check....will make sure I ask about all that before I drive 6 hours to go look a the car!

Edit: Thanks for the Manheim numbers.....great info!

So for an 2006 car, fully optioned, 6 speed, sport pack they are asking $65K. Would an offer of $60K be out of line? More? Less?

I think that is a fair offer, and you guys will probably meet somewhere in the middle (hopefully close to 60K)
    Gluck
