Don't know if anyone has noticed the connectors on the gas door button in the center console, but upon closer inspection, you'll find that some of Dearborn's 'stuff' had found it's way into your thoroughbred.

Now for the sobering bit of information; the center console harness (should you ever need to replace it) sells for a cool $1,800 on Ricambi....two dollar Ford connectors and all.

    Just saying....

Probably more reliable than a Fiat part...

Yeah that's well known, and Delphi and other tier supplier components. It's a good thing, I bet those are the only ones that won't break ;) Currently my driver side door is taken apart to replace a fractured Ferrari designed part with Hill Engineering...

I wish all the parts could be sourced through ford then we could avoid the Ferrari tax.

I think that's great - keeps maintenance in check. Did something similar with my E-Type and the brake calipers.

It's very smart for Ferrari to use items like this from other manufactures that make a gazillion of them... If they needed to produce every item the cost would double. I'm actually suprised how many items have the horse or Ferrari name on them (down to the thumb screws inside the hood - shock covers).

A couple of years ago someone said that the fog lights on the 355 are the same ones on his ford explorer or was it his f150....anyway it was one of them and the price was really cheap compared to Ferrari.

When they make an actual "Ferrari" part, it costs more but they tend to use many of the same item in different models. For example, vents, ashtrays, headlights, shiftgate, etc...

If you look at new cars today so many of the parts are the same across many model and brands. car companies do not build cars they assemble them from "off the shelf" items as much as they can from their suppliers. More so today then ever before.

Since the fog-lights on the 348 are unobtanium, I am wondering if there is a Ford fog-light that will fit the 348 as well.

Doing the de-sticky job right now on the console and noticed all the ford connectors when cleaning the switches.

Uh ......... the price does double, and more, even though Ferrari doesn't make the parts. But buying from the Ford dealer isn't any cheaper. I went to the Ford dealer to see how much they wanted for a new negative battery cable for my Expedition. The cost $325, and no.....I did not buy it.

And the 348 also has numerous Ford electrical connectors. You know what the business guys say, "Make it up in volume". :)
