Pictures of Rare Color 348

I just saw this thread. Not sure if anyone still reads it since the last post was 06.2006 but thought I would share a few photos of my two cars. Both get a lot of attention and comments. Most like the Blue Sera Metalico with the Tan interior better, BUT many do like the rich look of the Verde Scuro Grande with the Creama interior. I didn't buy them for re-sale value but because I feel the Metalic paint looks much deeper / richer than the flat and common Red or Black. When at car shows many walk past the Red or Black 348s to look at either of these.....Oh well that's a personal preference. Neither cars were cheaper because of the color.

Beautiful cars. I'm a big fan of that blue. I saw a similar green 348 TS on the south side of Denver (Denver Tech Center) last summer. The color was stunning. Enjoy!

Little off topic but is this the opposite of 'resale red'?

Painted this way because it was seized by the Colombian police from a drugs lord/smuggler type and they couldn't sell it off - no one dare buy it. Sadly they found they were 'forced' to use it themselves.

Kind of reminds me of being at work and I had a meeting with the local constabulary. I went down to the gate and they were in a police car - a Lotus Exige police car to be precise. Sad to see these cut-backs biting so hard.

One set are OEM Ferrari 18" 360 Modulars the other set were custome made 18" by Forgeline.

Thanks, it was the Forgelines that I thought might have been HREs. Looks like a set of four in the stock 355 sizes would run $4160. Something to think about...

Here is the fact on the Ferrari red color, back in the day when F 1 racing began , early 1940's each country that entered a car for racing,needed to be identified the F 1 body decided that each country was given a color to race by , Italy was given Red so all Ferrari , Maserati and Alfa Romeo were painted red, Germany was given silver, England was Brit racing green and France was blue. So it's quite by accident that Ferrari were painted red, Italy could have been given any color at the time.

fact number 2 the first Ferrari that's rolls off the production line for every model since Ferrari began is painted yellow as the the national color for the State of Modena where Ferrari's are built.
