I was backing out my E-Type to clean out the garage / take some pics, and while trying to be "careful", I got careless and hit the side of my garage. The bonnet over the front passenger tire was dented pretty good. I'm really disappointed, although I know it can be fixed. I have a great mechanic in Terry Lippincott, just hoping I get some coverage insurance-wise.

Just waiting to hear back from Terry, and I'll call the insurance company tomorrow. Here are a few pics of the damage:

Sorry to hear about your E-type, rdefabri. Everyone here can empathize. There's nothing worse than putting a dent in your car by accident. You kick yourself for days (if not weeks/months!) over those.

To quote Animal House: "My advice to you is to start drinking heavily."

    Ouch. Painful to see.

You'll feel much better after it gets fixed.

Reminds me of this famous quote:
"Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards."

Most of us have done worse damage to cars.

Yep, I'll get that moving quick - it's painful to look at!!! Thankfully, it was the E-Type as I posted in a different thread...much easier (and cheaper) to repair than my F-Car!

That sucks, but its a straight forward fix for any good body guy not to say it will be cheap. I think my Hagerty covers stuff like this in my policy.

Just spoke to Hagerty - they said it should be covered, but I won't file a claim until I speak with Terry. Good to know that it could be covered, I just have the deductible.

Still kicking myself, but the Hagerty rep said they get calls like this all the time!!! :D

Just glad you didn't back the new F-car into the E.

I always park my car to the far right of center in my garage to stay away from 4 post lift on the left. Makes backing out a little tricky but I always remember. Well, my daughter back from college did not look and my car is now sans right side mirror.
