I just finished doing a bunch of upgrades this week on the 360 and have been fighting with the exhaust alignment. I have it pretty close but have nothing to compare it to. Thoughts on tip locations? There is about 1/8-1/4 of an inch clearance between the bumper and the inner tips. If I move it around it never gets closer that 1/8. I'd rather not melt the bumper, do you think that's a safe air gap? Btw I just installed Tubi test pipes and a tubi muffler. Can't wait to hear how it sounds! Thx in advance

I personally would try to center them more within the hole... but that might not be possible.

I have Tubi too (scooby dooby doo - couldn't help myself).

They are a nice exhaust, but they just don't align well. You look like you may have done as good a job as you can.

How is the condition of your top gearbox mount/bush? If it's worn it can allow the gearbox and tips sit a little low.

How about loosening the bolts that hold the tips to the muffler. You might be able to move the tips to the position that you want, then re-tighten.

My FabSpeed muffler/tips had a lot of slop on the bolt/bolt holes, so much so that the copper gaskets could close down the exhaust ports some if not properly aligned. I have about 1/4" to 3/8" clearance.

    Good luck

Thx guys, I've messed with it a little more and think its as good as its going to get. I never thought to check that mount but will have a look. There isn't any adjustment where the tips bolt to the muffler, that's a pretty good fit. Just need to wait until next week for the challenge grill to get here and I can button everything up!

Next on the list is to take the doors apart and figure out why the doors won't lock, either by remote or with the key? I'm guessing its related to the cables binding up. At least I will have plenty to keep busy with this winter lol

I did the same install on my 360 spider (search for that post) and had the same issue. As you mention, no matter how I messed with the mounts, bolts, brackets,... I got similar results.

I think this is the best you'll get.

BTW enjoy the sound. This is the best upgrade you can make to a 360

My tubi tips were misaligned like that.
From memory the mounting bracket underneath has slotted holes and I managed to get it spot on with a bit of jiggling around.
Also the mounting bracket is fairly flimsy and may respond to a little bending.

I checked the trans mount bushing and it looks to be pretty centered. Right now I have it prettly much level and centered, I would like the tips a little higher but it will require taking it back apart and extending the slots in the bracket. For now I'm calling it quits and leaving it alone, eventually I'll take it back apart and make the changes lol

Have you tried turning the "smiley" bracket upside down?

Hmm, no I didn't, I did label it before I removed the stock exhaust so I know it's in the same way it came out. I have a spare one I will measure up and see if flipping it over will move it up. Good idea, thx!

It should help - I flipped mine when fitting the Tubi.

Yep. Voicey is right. Turn the bracket. Twisting the cats slightly will also lift the silencer box.

I had the exact same issue when I installed a Tubi exhaust on my 360 last year. The left and right pipes were seriously out of alignment, with one side almost touching the top of the black fascia surround and the other almost touching the bottom. It really drove me nuts and a few people said something to me after driving behind me. The initial explanation from my mechanic was that the Tubi units are hand made and that only a factory exhaust fits perfectly right out of the box. Still frustrated, I had them modify the mounting brackets to allow for more adjustment travel. Both exhaust pipes are now perfectly centered and look terrific.

BTW, you will LOVE the sound!

I took some rough measurements with a spare mounting bracket that I have, Voicey is dead on, flipping the bracket upside down will bring the tips up to where they should be!
I wonder if I can flip that bracket without taking the bumper off again? It seems possible but looks like it will be tight quarters.

Thanks again, and hopefully this will help others who install a Tubi!

Ps: the car sounds amazing, now if only the snow would melt and it were spring time lol

Trust me - take the bumper off. It is worth the extra 30 mins to get the damn thing off to get the extra room to work in - I've found out the hard way....
