I also just called and committed for a set (gave C.card #). Ernie said he would be in contact with Matt to update the thread so we will know a ship date.

Glad to hear you guys are looking forward to receiving your bars - as I am too! My pleasure to help.

Once I connect with Ernie, I'll pass on the production and shipping updates.

    Guys, a very important update:

John from Addco is ready to ship the "test fit". Basically, this is the first set to be installed in one car to make sure it drops in ok and that there aren't any design flaws.

John was planning to send this to me, but my car still has a head gasket issue and thus isn't running and can't be the test fit.

I need a volunteer to be the test fit. You need to be someone who can install the sway bar set immediately upon receiving it (which, if it ships today or tomorrow, could be by this weekend, or early next week) and then to provide feedback to ADDCO and the group.

If all is good, ADDCO will promptly all of the bars out to us. If the bar needs adjusting, you need to be able to describe to ADDCO precisely how/where the bar needs to be tweaked.

Please PM me if you'd like to volunteer to be the test case. Once I have someone lined up, I'll post that the slot is filled and that we're proceeding.

    Thanks!
    Matt

It's not supposed to be above freezing in the next week and my car's in an unheated garage.

If nobody else can do it, I will. But I'll be cold.

edit: I couldn't provide any driving impressions. But I could verify fitment.

    Hey Guys,

AZDoug has generously volunteered to be the test case, so we're off and running.

Assuming Doug installs the bars in a timely manner, we should have feedback the first or second week in February. This means that, with luck, if no changes are required, we should all have bars in our hands midish February.

We'll keep all of you posted.

Yup, I live in AZ, my car is already on the lift for storage, I have twisty hill country roads a mile or two away, and have time later next week to install.

Contacted these guys in Dec - no response
Just contacted them again, hopefully hear from them soon - it can't be that hard to ship them OS.

Incidentally, are most of you running standard springs and ride heights?

They will probably be here Tues, Wed latest.

I have some time available late next week to get them installed most likely day after they arrive, as UPS gets here about 5PM.

    Ferraridoc,

I think you've got to get them on the phone. I assume that they'd ship worldwide, but I'd be glad to forward a set to you if they won't.

Does anyone know the number of orders on the sway bars? Did we make it to 20?

    Nothing yet.

I thought they would be here by now. 6 days should more than cover ground transport by UPS.

I am supposed to get a FEDEX sig package tomorrow, maybe that will be the bars, or maybe it is something else, hard to say

I will call tomorrow for tracking number.

The bars are still sitting in ADDCOs shipping dept. They assured me they will go out today.

I spoke with Ernie. The bars shipped to Doug. The UPS tracking number is 1Z6155W50368956500

Ernie didn't have the final count - John keeps that information, and John is traveling until Monday.

Bars look very good. Nice gloss black powdercoat, or some other coating that has some give to it. It isn't paint.

Each bar has three position holes, so there are a total of nine adjustment combinations.

If the bars are neutral handling as installed, you can adjust the stiffness upwards two notches by moving each mounting point one hole inward. You can adjust front/back bias towards under steer or over steer by using different hole settings in each bar.

I suppose you could adjust left/right bias also if you are really finicky, for a total of 84 bias combinations.

I will attempt to install the rear bar Tomorrow.

Perhaps the front bar Sunday, depends on the weather, possible snow here on Sunday.

The stock bars on my '79 are 18MM front and back.

The larger ADDCO bars, are of course 25/22. ADDCO/Saner perhaps adding under steer?

Set up on equal hole positions, this will induce an under steer from stock. Not sure where they will end up adjustment wise.

Are later 308 cars also 18/18MM" or something else?

I saw somebody mention 18/15 in a post on another thread about this, so maybe Ferrari decided to add some under steer to the car? Would they have changed spring rates between earlier and later cars?

Getting prepped to do the rear bar later today, if I can fit it in.

The rear bar doesn't really fit.

It needs to be about 2" wider PER SIDE, so it connects to the outside of the Heim joints.

There is way plenty of tire clearance going wider, like 3" per side with a wider bar.

It was designed to connect to the inside of the heim joints, but when installing it that way, it hits the lower control arm if installation is attempted in the furthest out of the three holes, and has a bad heim joint angle in the other two hole positions if the heim joint is extended enough so that the bar doesn't hit the lower control arm.

I do not see this same situation on the front bar, as the control arm isn't in the way.

The rear bar as is, could be made to work, but you would need 1.25" spacers between the bar and heim joint, and even then, it would be hanging down below the control arm about 2-2.5", not what we want.

    I took some pics.

    Doug
