This is sort of neat. I have the ability to watch work being done on the car via webcam. It doesn't allow for high quality images, but it is nice to see progress or to know what is being worked on.

I tracked down one of the prior owners and he was nice enough to send me the original service manual for the car. Unfortunately the original owners manual is MIA.

Here are some more pics of the metal work being done.

One upgrade Dave makes is adding a third stiffener (the middle of the three) inside the sill. It's over the jacking point. A small detail Jaguar left out causing the floors to collapse if one has the need to ever change a flat tire. They also prime and seal the inner sills before closing them up. Jaguar left them bare metal inside. That is one of the reasons for us needing to replace them.

Wow! Just stumbled upon this thread, just fabulous. I'm curious if the photo of the lighter blue OTS was done by the Canadian firm ( forget the name) that was "tops" in restorations back in the late '80's?

Never thought a red interior would "work".....I was wrong :)

I just invited Dave Ferguson to join the thread to contribute to the dialogue and answer questions, as he can add way more than me. Hopefully he will chime in.

Here is a photo of the bonnet. In the left headlight opening is a sample of the interior color and in the right headlight is a sample of the carpet and seatback color. The three fabrics in the center are the possible factory colors for the convertible top. I think we will wait until the car is built up to decide. Right now, I'm leaning toward tan or black. Please let me know your thoughts.

wonderful! the blue is certainly unique, love it!
+1 for the black top, it'll coordinate with the black inside the interior, the tan and blue are neither used anywhere else, so being already a unique color combo, they may look even more out of place IMHO

Looks like you already started! (it's got the front suspension on it looks like). Is the color period correct? Looks very nice.

    That's looking good!

A question: Your tub needed a lot of work, many, many hours and many new parts. Did you consider using a new tub, and if so why didn't you?

    Enjoy putting her back together!

    Best,

    Jack.

Cotswold Blue was a factory standard E-type color from '61 through '64. With that, it was an optional color in every year after '64, so it's an authentic color for a '67 e-type. It isn't a "safe" color like silver or grey, but given that there are a fair number of e-types out there, I wanted to do something less common but still flattering for the lines of the car.
