It does sound like the house at MB is on fire.

But given their past results that might be a good thing.

In a way I'm even a bit jealous: Ferrari doesn't have this groundshaking earthquake, which means they will continue with the same old same old. And their results will be the same old same old as well. :(

If by "same old" you mean we will arrive at the last race with a chance of winning a title, well, that would be fine by me.

Maybe Merc are plotting there way out of being a team owner.

Ferrari aren't missing as much as Mercedes. Ferrari seem to only be missing one final piece for their puzzle to really have something special again.

This forces the Daimler board to listen to others. Daimler will always own at least 60% is my guess, but the opinion is no longer just theirs.

I think it's 40% with 40 more to Wolff and 10 to Lauda

    No sorry, it's 60 Daimler, 30 Wolff, 10 Lauda

A reorganization with new people is a change. It is not a change that is one to ensure success. BAR Honda comes to mind.
3 years of hiring and changes at Mercedes yeilded 1 win. Ferrari have been consistent. The same cannot be said for Mercedes other than they were consistently not in the hunt or successful in the conventional sense.

    +1 this

It's a rare case that a company owns 100% of itself. Thus 'heated board room meetings' were born with the varying opinions and plans of action. At least now with Niki and Toto they have F1 knowledge with seats on the board. This could be a brilliant move for Mercedes because when Mercedes were 100% (after the puchased the final 30-40% from Aabar) they were stuck making all the decisions, and plainly spoken, they simply cannot do that. And the board meetings cannot involve those who are not members, so Brawn and company could not be there, they could simply sell their position to whomever is on the board. Toto and Niki at the table however, will sell adequate positions I believe.

They're still privateers. Until Coke or Pepsi buys them out anyway, Red Bull's market share is going south to the big two......it's coming. Give it 5-10 years or less.

Sorry, meant Ross Brawn still owning shares in Merc F1

But that's true for Red Bull, apart from that I am pretty confident they won't be bought by drink companies but rather Volkswagen with the porsche moniker.

And Coke will come Ferrari's way after Mclaren's rumors and the final small deal with Lotus.

I see, that could work. Then they would be a car company with a stellar F1 team and an energy drink manufacturer. Think they would sell off the energy drink biz? Absolutely.

    With respect, nonsense! ;)

The board can invite, listen to, quiz etc anyone they like to any meeting any time. Only board members can vote of course, but I'd bet Ross has made many presentations to 'em over the years.

    Cheers,
    Ian
