What im saying is if the tires were all the same price, I seriously doubt that many would choose the tires they do. Maybe not you, but most. Its been typed in here on tire discussions many a times guys saying that they like the Michelins but cant justify the price differance.
I hope your two new cars are Michelin shod and you use only Bridgestone 330 golf balls. ;)

Lol, just beat me to it, Gerry. Just got up (tis 0600 in the morning here) and sat down to say "was a bit OTT that comment, wasn't it" :) Too slow.

I guess it was just that sometimes some people say that people scrimp on their Ferrari, and I guess some do, but maybe that's not the case with most of the comments left on this thread. It certainly isn't the case on mine, can vouch for that. Same as comments about certain models, not always the case that people buy this or that model because of a price difference ;)

Anyway, sorry for being a tad harsh, was uncalled for.

Not sure of the tyres, still dark. And it's Pro V1s, obviously :)

Not a problem. Im the one who sometimes comes across as a little harsh. I dont mean to but thats the way it comes out in print. Love the pro V1s. Come to think of it, Titleist and Michelin do dominate thier areas of expertise. :)

    Very well put !!!

It's that sudden snap oversteer that keeps me away from some tires.
Good grip and predictable recovery is more my style in rubber.

I had a quick question. I have Pirelli tires on rear that read tire size: 295/30 zr19 then next to that its says Y 100. When ordering new tires. is the Y 100 something I need to include when ordering the correct or matching size? thanks....

I wouldn't just replace the rears you need to replace all four if your changing from one Brand/Model of tire.

Even if the front tires ( though the same make) are of a diffrent size than the rear?

+1 Its not a hard and fast rule, but mixing and matching is generally not near the top of the good idea list...in fact its near the bottom. Different tread designs (especially in the wet), construction and rubber compounds between front and rear can have unpredictable effects..usually not positive ones. Pick a tire and match all four!

I have used them on 3 cars. I remember recommending them to Fab when he was looking. This past spring I put the on my 355. I pushed them extreemly hard on FCA weekend drives over the summer. Never a hint of them not being up to whatever I threw at them. Chasing 458's, Scuds, CS's threw twisty mountain roads at 2-3 times the posted and they didn't flinch. Amazing tires.

No, I think the range between best and worst among the brands being discussed, would be hard to perceive unless a serious driver was really pushing them. And no, I don't think in the performance tire market more money = more tire performance. Having said that, Michelin may have a slight edge, but only slight.

Well to match the fronts they are $187 a piece for them. So, thats what I will do. Follow the rules. These are great prices. I can't wait to see what their performance feels like compared to the high dollar P's....

Great price, they feel great and look cool. I would reccomend them...
