wasn't sure if it was an example of a collection or your collection, impressive!

thank you to whoever corrected my "subject" spelling

watched SENNA the movie last night and saw some cars that would make good models.

That seems obsessed to me. ;) Maybe one day I'll get there. :)

What are the row of red books at the bottom of the picture?

And is that F1 case custom made? If so, out of curiosity, did you make it or have someone build it for you?

I think obsession and collecting are closely related, no matter what the collectibles are. What I try to avoid is collecting becoming a goal in itself and not as a means to enjoy a hobby. For example the need to must have a certain model to complete the collection. When I started out many years ago that was indeed my goal and I think it's at the heart of any collector: to have a complete set (based on your own choice or pushed/provided by other parties).

I no longer care anymore and my collection has also changed considerably over the years. I only buy what I like, not because it fits in a certain theme or set.

What I do have to resist is to buy more than I can display. I try to limit my collection to Ferraris and Lancias and to scale 1/18. But It's always hard to resist buying other marques (Porsche for example) and I do have some 1/32 scalextric Ferraris. But I like them so why not. Space and money are ultimately the real restrictors and I hope to move to a bigger house in the future so that I can give my collection its own room! :)

Wow, very impressive. It's like a 3D poster.

Thank you. That was the idea and it was inspired by a poster of the F1 cars I saw in a Ferrari dealer.
Honestly, the hardest thing about this case was convincing my wife to hang it in the kitchen. LOL

Hi!It is very fun to talk about an obsession...as above I think my situation is quite pathologic.
I collect and try to make models from about 50 years..but I never find the rigth pics to make a perfect repro..so the time goes on!
May be a doctor can help me, but it is so difficult to find a Ferrari expert one!
    If you have an address..please!
For istance I have a 1:12 512s model that I cannot finish because I don't know were was the fire estinguisher in that race and many others models with similar questions.
I sleep bad and sometime I have nigthmares...hope to find a time machine to go in the past to see the true.....
    Regards,
    Alessandro

Interesting to see what other collectors/modellers have done.

As my own collection grows, I'm facing the dilemma of running out of space for display. :(

I limit my collection to 1:43 models of cars I actually own (or the closest available model to it), and limit my "display case" to one bookcase in our library.. I'm one of those people who was able to stop at just a few! :)

BBR or Le Phoenix for a 308GT4.
    BBR also made a S1 330GT!
Last year I found an old amr 330 which is also nice.

At the moment I am very selective to buy new models for my collection.
I have most of the ones I really like.
The ones I would like to add, are mostly not the cheapest ones, and not easy to be found.

No 1:18's and NO 1:1 (yet).
As you can see in my collection I am very much into the classics.
At the moment I don't have the need to own a 1:1, to busy to enjoy it anyway, my business comes first for the next few years.

The models don't need to be cleaned, or maintained..

my model "collection" is now complete at 2 pieces with 4 cars total! side note - I am missing Forza 108,49,90-97. I got out of collecting before the hardcore addiction kicked in, I hope.
