Would you change your F355 for another Ferrari ? if no, why and if yes, what model would you buy ? I will start... No..... want stick shift, size of car is perfect, classic pop up lights, spider still has a "vintage" look with the leather top cover, the back is classic Ferrari with the twin lights and two twin exhaust, NO major nuisance driver assistance computer programs (all on driver), Clean and simple/functional exterior and interior design with cooling scoops, perfect engine power for road use, central mounted console for HVAC/other controls is original, great value for money (at least now!) ....
If I had unlimited funds? 250GTO or any 250/275 for that matter. Otherwise, I'll stand pat with the spyder.
There are a few other Ferraris I'd like to have but the 355 is so inexpensive now that I'd keep it too. I'd like to have an F12 and the little bit of money I'd get from selling the 355 wouldn't make much difference.
Sure, plenty of Ferraris I'd rather have, but all of them are at least 10x more money. If I had to pick one, I'd probably go with a 1967 312f1 or a p4.
The only Ferrari I would change my F355B for is a 458B or a 365GTB. I would have very serious reservations about the flippy paddles in the 458, too.
Same here.... only other Ferrari I'd change to would be 458B. I thought about the new NSX, but it wouldn't provide the 'Ferrari Experience'...sound, handling and good looks of the 355B. As a second Ferrari I always liked the 328B.
I'm going on my 9th year of 355 ownership and for me that is a long time to stick with a certain model of a car but the 355 is just that kind of a car, a keeper. I have been thinking about trading my 996 GT3 for a 360 Challenge Stradale since the 355 keeps giving the GT3 the evil eye
The CS is special. I am always teased by this particular model. I have been looking at 612's as I have. 5 and 3 year old and they seem to be a great deal at this time. I have never drove one yet, but will likely drive one soon. The f355B is getting the major engine out as we speak and I will keep her "Monica" for as long as I can. Likely for my son.
No, I wouldn't trade my 355 for another Ferrari. I would like to purchase a 512TR someday. The 458 is very nice. The 288 GTO edges out the 355 in looks slightly. The F40 and Enzo are nice but I like the looks of the 355 better.
The only other Ferrari I drove was a 430 coupe with a 6 speed manual transmission. Yes I would trade, though I do like having a targa top on my 355 GTS.
I would have to give the next Ferrari a spirited drive a few times before I buy it. It will have to impress me, give me more & keeping me awake at night after returning the keys. That's when I know it's time to move on from the F355.
I must say.... I am surprised.....I expected that most would stay with the same style/design/era....say F40/F50 ish ....I guess this is taste. I am a big fan of the 250s/older etc.... But can you seriously drive those and feel the power/handling/screaming sound/comfort Etc.....I consider these cars more for show/art than for drivers. Again, have not driven one, so I could mistaken. .....I would go for the F40 ...... I guess
Raised in the '80s, the wedge shaped Ferraris and Lambos will always have a special place in my heart... although today's models have much lower drag coefficients, they look way too curvy and goofy to me… they don’t strike an emotional chord, like the classic lines of the 355, 328, 308, BB, etc… and nothing beats the flexibility/practicality of a targa top! I would not change much on the exterior… but would love higher quality interior plastic parts/finishings and I wish Ferrari would have used higher quality exhaust manifolds and bypass valves… and allow access to the engine through the passenger compartment. I echo the sentiment... the other models that resonate with me are over $1m and not daily drivers e.g. 250 SWB
I'd never trade the 355 on an older model. Would love an F40, or a 288GTO, or even a Dino, but it wouldn't be INSTEAD of the 355. It would have to be as well as. I'd only trade the 355 on a newer Ferrari, and the only newer Ferrari more desirable than my GTS to me is a 458, preferably a Spider.
In today's market, I think a 348 or 355 is the best Ferrari you can buy in terms of value for your dollar ratio. Sure I'd love a California but at 4X the price, the 355 is a better choice for me.
My thoughts to the T. Just recently purchased my 355, could have purchased 360/430. The 355 just fit me perfectly. I don't need a faster or bigger car, just sold my Z06 which saw track time and is arguably one of the fastest track beasts out there. But, if $ was not in the equation, I would love to have a 275 alloy body.
288 GTO or F40. The F355 is my third favorite Ferrari and I plan to own my '97 Berlinetta as long as I live. Rob
Are we talking money no object? I'd trade my 355 in a heartbeat for a: F50 MC12 F430 Scuderia p3/4 FXX
I was actually pretty far down the path on a 575 before I switched gears (figuratively) and went 355 Spider. Still love the 575 and I want to get one as my 2nd Ferrari because I like the counterbalance of the 2-seater GT berlinetta (and gorgeous lines) of a Grigio Titanio/Tan 6-speed 575 to complement my Swatters Blue/Tan 6-speed 355 Spider. For my lifestyle, the 355 Spider just seemed like a more liveable, usable Ferrari at half the price - which is definitely what I was after. Never looked back. ketel
