308 when I was 18 in 1987... It was a friends car and got to drive It home for him from a car show First ride 206 Dino in 1972
The first time I drove one was the first time I owned one: Age 45 in this beautiful metallic black 328 of mine.
46, in my own Ferrari (348GTC), it had just arrived off the back of the delivery truck. Was not only the 1st time I ever drove one, but it was also the 1st time I had ever sat in one.
Age 20, and she was a gorgeous black/tan '89 328 GTS. The sounds and smells still so vivid in my mind. I was never the same after that.
This Summer, a couple of months after my 21st birthday, my family took a trip to Italy so of course we visited Maranello. It was there that I was able to drive my first Ferrari, my dream car the F430 through the hills outside Maranello. It was glorious. My younger brother and my parents also drove their first, both in Californias. It was a great family experience. Here I am looking very intent trying not to wreck Image Unavailable, Please Login
This is a funny story: I was 51 when I made a very good deal in my business. I decided to buy a 911 Turbo again (what I had in the past too) to make myself a thanks-present. I went to the dealer in my city and he gave me the car for 1 hour. I was driving a little on the highway and through the countryside. When I came home I said to my wife that I am very disappointed because I dont feel the necessary happyness for such a big investment. There was no kick. She said "why don't you try Ferrari". I had the opinion, that no Ferrari is comparable with a 911 Turbo. Porsche has better torque, higher quality, lower service-problems and costs, etc. But I decided to try. Looked at the telephone register for the next F-dealer and found in Dresden (Germany). I called and said "sorry, I have no idea and I dont know anything about Ferrari and the actual models, but maybe I want to buy one. Can you help me?". The woman there explained that she has every actual model and I can look at all and try all. 2 hours later I have been there. I saw the 458 Italia and have been immediately in love with its lines. The woman gave me the car and I was driving it warm very carefully. During this I thought "seems to be not so bad". When the baby was warm I startet to use hard throttle. After two minutes of real driving this machine I said to my wife sitting beside of me "I must have!!!". We brought back the car to the dealer, checked all technical datas, possibilities of options, colors, etc. Then we went home for thinking. Next day immediately after opening dealers shop I have been there for configuration and ordering. This was in October 2011. 7 months later I got my baby and I am so happy with her! I cant expect end of wintertime to take her out and drive again. This is my little story how I found my real love in sportscars. Regards - Webber45
I was 49 - F40. It was another fabulous Colorado day and I was instantly hooked on turbos working their magic with the Rocky Mountains as the backdrop. That day was just as surreal as each day in climb in again.
I was 23, and the car was a brand new Dino 246GT coupe - in 1972. I did not buy it because I did not think it was as fast as my 1972 Porsche 911T. They only wanted $3,000 difference to trade.
I was 51 and the car was the 328 that I was about to buy and still own. In fact, it's still the only Ferrari I've ever driven! And the first time I even rode in a Ferrari was in the owner's Testarossa, what he picked me up at the airport in, just about an hour earlier! Since it was white, we must have looked like Crockett & Tubbs pulling away from the airport terminal curb.....
I was 24 and shopping for my first Ferrari. Test drove a 348 and they let me keep it for the entire weekend!!!
I too rented a 308 GTS in Honolulu - I was 33 years old. 8 years later, I bought my first Ferrari - a red/tan 308 GTS just like the one I rented!
Age 27. 328gts. What a fantastic little car, I have always dreamt about 3x8. I had big ekspectations but it didnt let me down in any way. I still havent gotn down on the ground and is now selling several cars so I can buy my own little ferrari
