I'm looking at one now and was curious if the Lorica has a naturally faded ratty look to it(sorry not really sure how to describe it) or if in fact this is really faded. I have attached a picture for review.

    Thanks

Ours is nowhere near that bad, but it will almost certainly depend on the amount of exposure to UV rays and the elements.

never noticed any signs of fading/wear of the Lorica on my car despite its rather high mileage (now close to 20.000km)

yeah, this car has a little over 3,000 miles on it. The rest of the interior was in superb condition but all of the Lorica looks this way. I was kinda shocked given the mileage vs appearance. And of course, all the switches etc need to be redone. I turned one of the air dials and my fingers were covered in goo!

That looks like excessive wear to me. My Barchetta has over 11,000 miles and it doesn't look anything like that at all. That looks like something was rubbing against it for some period of time.

Doesnt look too bad to me. Friends 550B has 2500 miles on the clock and also has the faded look, hard to compare but will take a picture and post here as a comparison. However it looks to me like this material had a faded look when new.

    I second this sentiment.
My car is nowhere near that amount of deterioration, just slight fading.

the previous owner was around 6 feet, seems like he rested his arm there when cruising around town? Or he had a lap dog sitting there.......

I was curious as to the overall faded look of the material as I have never run across one before.

Any pix from owners for comparison would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

Really common to see that washed out look. I reupholstered a full dash this year in Black Alcantara. It's not the correct factory material but give it the same exact look with a jet black finish.

I'm sure 30 years from now we will be fighting over the original material or looms when these start getting restored. Similar to mouse hair.
