Prices seem to be on the move, anyone have an opinion on the recent price increase on the 250 PF upwards of 275K...?

I presume we are talking GBP ? I have 1421GT close to completion and will certainly be asking more than that. I have also just been offered 1977GT by its new private owner and his asking price also exceeds 275K.

There has been two project cars that needed full restorations that traded for about $250K. One of them is the white Marseilles car that sold at auction a few months back and the other sold about a year ago at FJ. The problem there are not many 250 PF Coupes that traded hands recently. About a year ago I was offered a Platinum car for $350K. I highly doubt the owner of that car would sell at that number now with all the craziness taking place in the vintage Ferrari market. If a high quality driver or a newly restored car was to come to auction now it would bring $450-$500K easily. I believe there are only 250-300 of these cars left in the world and although the design is not a favorite for many, it has a strong following it seems. Thoughts?

And I would certainly expect you to. A freshly restored 250 PF Coupe should bring more than GBP275k in the context of 2011 - 2012. So taking 2013 into account....

With recent prices of $1 Million on the 250 PF Cab., and around
the same for a Lusso---the PF Coupes have to be on the way up.

We all rise & fall in the same tide. I imagine that the
$400 to $500,000. price (US Dollars) is the right area
for a very nice car today.

Do we know how much Hexagon Classics is asking for their car??

    Other opinions are certainly welcome.

    Ken,

You own both a 330 GTC and a PF Coupe. The PF Coupe was evaluated a bit higher for a long time. It seems that they may just be equal in value today. Which one of the two would you keep if you had sell one?

    Best,

    Geno

Geno: I think that the 330 GTC was always a bit higher priced than the PF Coupe.
When I was on the hunt for the cars, the 330's were always higher priced. Today, with the absurd auction results in Arizona, the 330 GTC is still higher valued.

I got these 2 cars because they are so different--disc vs drum brakes,
late 1960's vs 1958, A/C & power windows in the 330 GTC (Although the A/C is not
that great most of the time)--and no A/c or power windows in the PF Coupe.

I would have to keep the 330 GTC if I had a choice. It is a much better driving car & much easier to live with. The PF Coupe is more of a "hot rod" from the 1950's. My car
is S/N 1099 so it one of the earliest Series 1 PF coupes. Possible the Series 2 with
overdrive & disc brakes is a bit more refined.

    Best wishes,
    Ken Goldman

Thank you Ken, I had a feeling you would chose the 330 GTC. Just two to three years ago a good quality 330 GTC was @ $175-220K. Similar conditon 250 PF Coupes I saw closer to $225-$250K. Therefore I always thought they were priced a bit higher. Talking to a few experts that discount the recent $770K result for the 330 GTC, they believe (in reality) the 330 GTC is a $425-$500K car today (for decent cars). On par with the 250 PF Coupe. I guess if we see more 330 GTCs bring $600-$750K range, a real market price may be established at that point.
