I don't understand this thread, why so much hate towards Iran? I keep seeing it over and over also towards China.

I don't "hate" Iran. It's just laughable to try and pass off a b grade movie prop as a 6th generation fighter jet.

They would have been far more believable to take a non-flying f14, modify the skin, paint it flat grey and say they've reverse engineered our drone to make it more stealthy.

Because this "jet" is a bad joke by Iran and they are getting their whole country mocked for it, rightly so.

    Patrick,

Attitudes are different here for different reasons than yours in Australia, I imagine.

Hate is too strong a word, I think.

Iran... the 'Iran Hostage Crisis' still stings for many.
Also Iran's march toward nuclear whatever is a large issue. With their threats toward us (and Israel).

China... was the "Evil Communist China" for ages. Not so much any longer.

Also, many are irritated that China has 'bought' so much of our debt. They seem to be angry at China for this instead of placing blame on our government who is creating the massive debt.

Interesting that Japan owns almost as much of the US debt as China; the attitude is very different toward Japan.

Another issue is that many of our manufacturing jobs have 'gone to China'. There are many resons for that, but many folks see China as 'bad' because of that.

    Others may have other reasons...

Oh, and can you have your avatar stop picking his nose, please? :)

You're really stretching the definition of "hate" here...surely you must admit the (unintended?) humor in their claims? Do you believe what they're showing & saying? Might it not be worthy of ridicule no matter the provenance? Relax!

I think people are annoyed by China because everything they "create" is stolen/reverse engineered technology that costs us and other developed nations billions of dollars every year. The Chinese are generally viewed as unoriginal thieves incapable of innovation in anything besides figuring out ways to steal things someone else created. As for the Iranians, well, everyone gets a good laugh out of a country with a completely inept military and a broken economy that constantly makes outrageous claims about technology it has developed.

My favorites are the people who ask how it will stack up against western fighters, and they are like "we just don't have enough data" hahahaha.

Well, back on topic sort of.

Ahmadinejad now says that he wants to be Iran's first Astronaut.

They have a rocket and have sent a monkey into (and back from) space.

Puzzling why they would want to send another monkey into space.

I think the stealth aspect comes from the fact that it's made of plywood. Very clever!

I love reading from those drinking the koolaide. Iran's march toward Nuclear weapons? Try reading ElBardi's book which covers this extensively, rather than the news media. They have not threatened us. They have said that they will attack, if attacked first. Big difference, no? I don't have technical knowledge to determine if this is real or not, but I do know that they commandeered a stealth plane, landed it, when we said 1. it wasn't there, 2. it had a technical failure. Just like the alleged Israeli attack on weapons being delivered to Lebanon last week. Another lie, pictures showed attack was on research facility. Bottom line here, we don't know what is or isn't real. time will tell though. You can't trust any of the media.

Sorry art, the fact that you believe that Iran commandeered that Stealth drone pretty much invalidates your whole argument.

I think that one is about a wash if it is as has been widely reported.... They were merely responding to a violation of their airspace. I doubt that the real truth will ever be known about that incident. On the one hand it seems like supreme incompetence to let a secret drone like that be captured so easily. On the other hand it could have been a masterful trojan horse dropped onto the Iranians.

At least they are trying to enrich Uranium for "peaceful purposes." How do these idiots ever expect to go up against the US and Israeli fighter jets?

This wired article explains it pretty well.

Iran's Alleged Drone Hack: Tough, but Possible | Danger Room | Wired.com

When you consider the two possible scenarios - the one above, and the one where the drone just lost sat signal and then failed to return to base, which happens all the time - it's a huge stretch to call it a wash. And then consider that this was a stealth drone, and in order to do such a thing you'd have to know exactly where it was and it's unlikely that suddenly one day Iran had the radar technology to detect and track such a thing after it had been flying undetected for months (or years) over their airspace. It's like if you leave a cookie out on christmas eve and it's gone in the morning, who do you think ate it? your dog or santa clause?

If you look at the reflections on the 'plane'... those are the reflections of the lights in the room (hangar???) shown in the link on post #1 of this thread... ha

How did they get those lights up in the sky above that mountain??????

Wow, the guy being interviewed in the "Wack" interview in the post above is just an idiot.
