Thank you all for your kind words, they mean a lot:)

Of course I will be happy to sign and dedicate with personalized mentions it is the least I can do.

Luvair and others: on your side please order directly via Eau Rouge Publishing, to benefit from zero delay safe delivery: any other website is not authorized, undercuts our -ERP and my- narrow margin to the point of loss and would not receive stock from us for many weeks after printing so if you appreciate the work this took and wish to respect that as much as you would wish your own work to be respected please order via Eau Rouge Publishing it is quick and simple wherever you might be. Thank you:)!

I can't wait till I see it be born at the printer's next month:)

In the meantime I will be online very little to relax this week and am planning some holidays under the palm trees!

    Again Merry Chrsitmas,

    Marc

    Hi

The quickest way is to order via our own website at www.maserati-book.com -I will be using a secure courier service to ship to the States from the U.K.

The book will be available in mid/late January. Eventually the book will be for sale at the specialist U.S motoring booksellers, but we do not intend to supply Amazon.com, as it would be logistically impractical.

    Thanks

    Doug

Hooray, my copy of Marc's work arrived today and it is absolutely a tour de force for Maserati readers. It's a good thing my wife is going out of town for the next few days as I will be blatantly anti-social while I sit back and read the book from cover to cover. Marc, thank you again for an amazing piece of work.

I must say that it is wonderful that we are seeing more carefully researched and documented books on Maserati. It is only right that the marque has new scholarly works coming out so that people appreciate what wonderful automobiles Maserati produced. I can't wait to get my hands on Walter's book next. Just a couple of more days until I can pick it up at the publisher's offices.

    Dear all:

Friday February 1st was a very special day for yours truly, I flew to England and got to the printer in Somerset to see the book be born: what a moment, one which seemed so elusive numerous times since the process started in 2007.

It is a big baby almost 5 kilos/10 Pounds but more importantly 156000 words, 510 pages.

I am very happy with how it came out and so is Doug my publisher who has been instrumental in getting my work to actually be published and printed since I had two publishers go bankrupt since 2007 yet Doug pulled through with Maserati like torque!

I am satisfied that I left nothing on the table, it has everything to please everybody, historians will appreciate the human and contextual documentation the interviews of people who are with us or no longer, many of which had never been interviewed, the much needed clarifications into the least researched era of Maserati, the rumors debunked etc.
The more technically minded will also find plenty to be satisfied with the truth about the birth of the SM/ Merak engine, details on how the various models evolved and Andy Heywood's very precise restoration advice for Bora, Khamsin and Merak.

Here are some photos taken Friday, also showing the huge printing machine the size of a bullet train locomotive.

Had a mustache remaining from the beard for the occasion as wink to my late dad who had one and brought Masers home but no more facial hair now: task completed!:)

Will be at Retromobile from tomorrow morning till Friday late afternoon, look forward to seeing many of you there, just ask Horton's I will sign books there when required. I also look forward to seeing Walter and his book...hey Walter, mine's bigger;-)

Thank you to those of you including Pacal Elliott and others who already have your copies for the kind words:)

    A happy and relieved Marc

My copy arrived on Monday evening and I have to say that, notwithstanding the number of other car books I have around the house (and trust me, there quite a few!), this is going to be a real treat! I look forward to learning about an era in a manufacturer's life, not just about one model or a sliver of a program, be racing or other. I think it is rare to find someone who has the passion and energy to tackle such an extended period of any company's life in detail because the work needed to give the reader the full picture is mind boggling. In addition, I think the pictures chosen create a great link between the cars, the people but also the period and how all of it fitted together in that slice of automotive nirvana!

As I said to Mark in a private email, and will repeat here to make him publicly blush, thank you for the all the work because I did not appreciate all that had to be done until I opened the tome. And thank you to Doug for having the vision to see it printed.

Looking forward to your next project.

    Dear Marc and Doug,

Just came home from a trip in Germany and passed by the DHL office at the Eindhoven Airport to pick up my copy of THE BOOK. Just went browsing though it.

What a great piece of work and craftsmanship.
Tomorrow I will have to do about 600km of travelling but will be driven this time. Guess what I will be reading on the rear seat?!?

    Thank you guys!

    Ciao,

    Bart

    Dear Marc,

Today I received my copy of your book. I had expected a book of nice photos with fairly thorough technical information on the cars. But the work you have done is infinately more important that that.

"One of my primary motivations was to understand the people ... I therefore set upon locating each relavant person, and each was facsinating in his or her own way".

Crossing the Himalaya, four door SM's, a racing program lead by a woman... I had no idea. Of course my favorite quote so far is: "(The Khamsin) is the best car Maserati ever made".

You have assembled a great story of an amazing cast of characters whose various passions produced some of the best and most engaging cars ever made. Congratulations on having done it!

(Hopefully someday we will be into the bottom of a bottle of Barolo, and you will tell me more about your muse Anna).

    My best to you always,
    Carmine

DHL delivered my copy to our doorstep this morning, and I've just skimmed through it...

    Thank you Doug & Marc!

I knew the photos were going to be unique, but the abundance of interviews was a special surprise!

"One of my primary motivations was to understand the people ... I therefore set upon locating each relavant person, and each was facsinating in his or her own way".

    ..Indeed!

    Carmine said it already:

Hello all, thank you very much for your kind words and yes Pascal it
    all makes me blush:)

After all these years of work it is exactly like coming out of a tunnel and being blinded: uh err what?!:)

I enjoyed 3 days at Retromobile in Paris from Wednesday to Friday, got hoarse as usual talking with countless friends and acquaintances and was very happy to see that the book was well received. It was nice to see Walter as well he did a superb job for his book.

To have your book come out is like a baby's birth (I was joking with women that they only need 9 months whereas I struggled for 5 years but several ladies answered Elephants need four years:)) It is like pay day after hard work except it is an emotional payday after a comittment to one's passion as opposed to a work pay after a job: no comparison:) Anybody who thinks these books are for profit is quite confused.

Now I head to Riga in Latvia -Carmine I will tell you about my friend and muse though not in a public forum but yes I enjoy a glass of Barolo any time:) - then next week Doug and I head to Modena to give the book to the factory and the oldtimers who kindly agreed to be interviewed: that will be a very nice occasion.

Magnus: det gick jätte bra, thank you:)

    best regards,

    Marc
