    I have

and SR3s, particularly early ones, aren't that bad. SR8s are still pretty spendy.

I got mine from the UK, as the used prices are not bad. try out racecarsdirect.com (Race Cars For Sale) for some fun window shopping. There are so many more road race cars on the market overseas than in the US!

better deal going overseas and dealing with VAT, customs, shipping, etc vs buying in the US?

Radical West usually has a few cars available at somewhat reasonable prices.

Hard to say. I got my car with a total of 13 hours on it for 40K pounds, but got bent over on shipping and have since had to have the engine refreshed and put a fuel cell in it so at this point I have about $100K in my car. But is is pretty loaded, with data, air jacks, paddle shifting, spare front and rear bodywork (including wing), big bearings, triple adjustable shocks, extra cooling to include gearbox, and the latest spec RPA V8 engine with only a few hours on it. I am sure you can get a used car for well under $100K from Radical West, but their cars are a bit older (mine is a 2009 model but without the bigger engine or Quaife transaxle).

Cool video, must be a blast :)

About 8 years ago I had a pax lap of the Nurburgring in a Radical with the single 'busa motor (SR3).
The feeling of entering corners much faster than your mind tells you is prudent or even possible, and just sticking to the track as if by magic is one I'll never forget.
Especially surreal because it was a UK car so I was sitting on the left seat, but without any controls :/

The V8 has to be unbelievable.

Looking forward to more vids and track reports!

Cool beans. How cool is it to have a F1 course almost all to yourself?

    Dale

PS How do you like the Radical compared to the SRF, particularly when it comes to wind buffeting.

Performance Box has no connection to the car (at least not usually) so no brake or throttle position. Assuming Keith agrees, when I get the file, I'll go through it, post screenies of what you want to see and explain what I see.

This is a great opportunity, Keith. Thanks for posting what you have, so far.

I will race at COTA in March. Can those who have been there tell me about the gas situation?

Does this track have standard swipe your card pay at the pump fuel in premium and 100 octane race gas?

Or is it attendant based at only certain times?

Or is gas close off the property?

    Thanks!

here's the race gas supply  I think it was $8/gallon (?) just watch out for ol' sparky the car battery

there is an Exxon station right outside the gates that has 93 octane, and a Shell (IIRC) a mile or so down the road from there.

Racing w/ SCCA? COTA sent out a letter describing the gas they would have available. It sounded like it is dispensed from a barrel, so only while the attendant is there. Pretty sure they don't/won't have pumps on site.

Also you are allowed to bring gas into the facility in 5gal containers. Although I'm sure they aren't going to stop to inspect your trailer for drums.
