Borrani wheel sizes for a Daytona

    Can anyone definitively tell me if 9s in the rear were ever an option from the factory? I have tried various sources and found conflicting answers. It seems 7 1/2 wheels all around is considered concours by most. There also seems to be many cars with various combinations such as 7 1/2 in front, 8s in the rear or, 8s in the front and 9s in the rear etc. Can anyof you weigh in with your opinions both visual and handlingwise regarding this as I would like to purchase a set of Borranis for my car--thanks to all in advance. I have checked the Registry on this by the way. Thanks again...

    Chromodoras, 7 1/2 x 15 standard. No other sizes available as an option.
    Borranis, 7 1/2 x 15 standard size. No other sizes were available as an option.
    9x15 cromodoras i believe were first introduced on the boxer 512 bb.
    For concours go with 7 1/2 x 15
    For purely aesthetics go cromodoras 7 1/2 x 15 front and 9x15 rear and Wrt borranis go 7 1/2 x 15 front and 8x15 rear

    AFAIK 9" rears were homologated on the Daytona to allow the fitment of wider 11" wheels on the Series 2 and 3 race versions. The race wheels were however made by Campagnolo and not Cromodora.

    How many (if any) Daytonas were actually delivered new with 9" rears is another matter.

    There was never a factory option for 9 inch rears. (I’ve never heard of 8 inch Cromodoras.)
    However, period racing Daytonas used 9 inch fronts and 11 inch rears.
    Some clients purchased the 9 inch racing wheels and put them on the back of their street cars. Racing 9 & 11 inch wheels can currently be purchased from Roelofs.

    sorry for the misunderstanding---regarding 8s and nines I was asking about Borranis not cromodoras and any other non-racing option other than 7 1/2s

    If you are asking about 9" Borranis then best to speak to F-chatter Wheels1. He has a set on his Spyder (Conv) but these were not original fit to the car. It's also discussed in the Holey Daytona thread.

    9" Borranis work fine on the rear of my Daytona and do improve the handling I would think. It's hard for me to judge the handling though, as my car has been strengthened a lot since I had the 7&1/2" rears on.
    Don't forget to order new Borrani spinners, to go with the wheels, as the original one's for the alloy wheels will not fit, safely.

    Was there ever an option to fit 4300&4301 borranis to a 1970 US Spec Daytona? I currently have 4075 which I believe to be original to my car

    Also with the 9” you go with a 225 instead of the 215 ...personality i think 8” all around looks the best
