Yes Yes Yes!!! 804 finally! Someone had said Paul Fisher had toyed around with the idea, but nothing yet. I'm hoping it has a good rendition of the 8 cylinder.

Also the new Tamiya 934 in 1/24th scale. Looks like a limited engine detail curbside plastic kit. I wonder how high the price will be as Tamiya is really getting expensive.

Oh look! They used my photo on the cover of the Ferrari instruction book! Of course it would have been nice if they maybe asked permission first! <Groan>

BBR says Tamiya FIAT RED 120. If you had bought the BBR 1/43rd or 1/24th kit you would know that. They really don't make many real 1/18th kits do they!!

    Thanks for your info.

It is a 1/18 project based on a 1/18 model of Hotwheels, but as you can see many many changes. (not by my self, I am absolutely not capable to do this)

But... to build it correctly it needs some color changes from what is shown in the photos. here's most of the info. The seats in this car and all 1955 DB3S cars were a tartan check fabric, wheels should be painted solver, there should be yellow painted all around the grill opening same color as on the front wheel arches, and inside grill opening the two upright panels should also be painted yellow. Mounting bar for headlights should be green body color. Spark plug wires should be black. That's all I can see in these photos, but there are probably other changes needed too. Overall the kit looks good, except sitting way too high at rear.

The 1955 car did not have the yellow nose. The '56 car (No.8) had the yellow nose.
not sure about the tartan either for '55

Quite awhile ago, in 1989 I manufactured models of these cars, and worked closely with Rex Woodgate, Victor Gauntlett, Chris Nixon, Captain Ivan Forshaw, and other experts in Aston Martin circles who knew and were there, as well as having the info to back it up. The color references I have given are correct - historically accurate.

I gave this information to help model builders, not to get into any disagreement.

Apologies MLB - you are correct - although none of my (B&W) ref photos appear to show the yellow in the nose at all clearly.
With respect my intentions were honourable - not to create a bun fight
(I will crawl back into the corner now) ;-)

Thanks to both of you for trying to get the information correct. It shows passion for the details. Marshall is a great Aston model expert and is always good to hear from.

without getting into a lot of back & forth. I've seen so many mistakes by various manufacturers out there that it gets very frustrating at times. And yes, there are problems with looking at old B&W photos whether they are in books or internet or in hand. In the very early days of my pro-building I made the same mistakes, but have learned since. It takes soooo much time to properly research some of these cars and try to get things right.

    And thank you Tom!

No problem, I have gained from the mistake - I already have the MFH kit (hence my interest)
and would be gutted if I made an error with it
    - now I have no excuse if I get it wrong!

Although not a model kit, I posted anyway to show the latest work of MiniDelta and Patrice de Conto. Amazing model that you can purchase on a special order. This was taken at Retromobile, one of the best classic car shows on the planet.

Thanks for posting the pics of the latest De Conto masterpiece Tom. I couldn't make Retromobile this year, but the Minidelta exhibit is always amazing, especially the patina and weathering that he achieves. Given a several thousand more pounds and a few hundred more square feet of house I would HAVE to have collection!
I believe there was a 1/12 D-Type jaguar proposed by minidelta a couple of years ago but no further sightings. Any news on that??
    Cheers.

    Mark.
