Awesome! I just turned 33 about 6 weeks ago.....hoping to have a new Spider by my 34th birthday, which would be the best gift ever to me! (from me...lol...just goes to show if you want something done right you've gotta do it yourself!)

It's a G550 not a G63 AMG. G63 is a waste of money, has 150 more horsepower but you're talking about a 5,805 pound tank-like truck. Mine does 0-60 in 5.9 the G63 does it in 5.3, big deal. Knew I was getting a 458 so figured I'd rather save the $30K difference (mine was $120K the G63 would be $150K) since speed was a non-issue. They drive exactly the same and look almost identical, you only notice the difference when you're flooring the car it's louder and accelerates faster but mine feels very fast as well. I'd highly recommend the 2013 G class it's an amazing car. I love it and I feel it is the perfect complement to the 458. I got the exact 2 cars I wanted and am extremely pleased.

Congrats on your two beauties! Enjoy in good health. I have a LX570 and it tows my Magic 28ftboat great. Would the G tow my boat just as well? Also how smooth is the ride? And room inside?

I might suggest you think twice about forgiatos. I have tried 2 different sets because I love the look and style.... Both sets, pure crap. I wouldn't use them if I was given a set for free. They were both so bad that I actually gave them away rather than even sell them. I admit they have some really cool looks and I know they are popular in south Florida, but the quality was very subpar in my experience.

Your 5,800 pound G550 is faster than my BMW 328i! Your cars look great, you must be very successful at 33. Hopefully when I'm 33, 16 years from now, I'll be able to purchase my dream car as well.

Thank u! The G would tow anything lol it's honestly like driving an armored truck or tank, feels indestructible. The ride in the 2013 is excellent & the technology in it is top of the line. It feels like a sports car SUV. Room inside is ample, u can easily fit 3-4 ppl in back depending on their sizes & trunk is spacious. Check with mercedes dealer about towing capacity.

What did u put ur forgiatos on? Mine are two piece 24" forgiato ottos painted white/blk to match my g wagon. Appreciate ur feedback but too late for me ordered the wheels months ago & they arrived last wk. Getting them installed on truck today or tmrw. Hope I have a better experience than u did or it'll be $7k down the tubes!

That's up to u, pal. If u work hard to get good grades now, always do ur best to fulfill ur potential, find something u love & dedicate ur self to ur craft then I promise u, u will. Right now get good grades, take a prep course for the SAT, get into a good university & don't waste time after u get out of school. I wasted 5 yrs after graduating college at 22 doing b.s. things & not making much money. To tell u truth, I'm pissed I didn't have this car at 28! If I had my head on right at 22 like I did at 27 I'd be where I am now 5 yrs ago! Remember, destiny is not by chance, it's by choice. Make it happen. No excuses.

I tried two separate sets of Forgiato Ottos on my 2011 RR Sport Supercharged. Both were AWFUL. I still have pics around here of what we had to do to even get the pieces of sheet to balance out. Finally, after going back and forth, dealer even admitted that the brand was crap. This really blew my mind since you see so many people with high end vehicles driving on Forgiatos. After asking around, I found another guy in my city that had similar problems with his.

Funniest thing about the whole ordeal is that Forgiato CLAIMS to be the best with their quality.... well I know different.

I do think the Ottos are some of the coolest looking wheels around....

Anyways, I hope your experiences are better than mine. I wasn't willing to have a car look good and ride like SHEET.... so I ended up GIVING THEM AWAY.... place I gave them to STILL hasn't been able to get them to balance properly and therefore cannot sell them either.

Thanks for the advice and yes, that's exactly what I have been doing! Being successful is a dream I have had since I was little. Seing an Enzo on vacation in Florida when I was in 7th grade has made me add owning a Ferrari to the qualifications of being successful. I don't want to live just an average middle class working life like my family and their families have before them.

In school, I have never had below a 4.0 weighted GPA and I take honors and AP classes. I plan to take 4 more APs next year. As a junior, I don't know what my class rank is, but I am sure I'm in the top 20 students in a ~200-250 person class. I am currently in an SAT prep class but I haven't taken the SAT yet. On my first PSAT in school, I got a 1900. Hopefully, I'll get my scores from the practice test yesterday and the second in-school PSAT soon, since I think I have improved my original score. I also get my practice ACT scores back soon as well. I want to go to Georgetown University since it's a great school and I love the area. However, since you live in SoFla, do you have anything to say about The U? It is one of my potential backup schools if I can't get into a top school like GTown or Duke.

Finally, would you be willing to tell me a little about what you have done and your field in a reply or PM? I am currently interested in Medicine and a major in Econ/Finance/Management. I'm not locked into anything though and my options are wide open!

You just scared the crap outta me! I thought Forgiato was top-notch quality and the Otto's look great on SUV's, so I was so happy to get them for my G wagon. I hope to god you were just an anomaly and my experience will be pleasant. I'm trading in my stock wheels/tires and getting a credit on the price of the Forgiatos. When you complained to Forgiato what did they offer you?

You sound like you are well on your way. Keep up the great work. I went to The U for undergrad and for grad school. Best times of my life. Excellent school. I'd definitely apply there if I was you. I got a 50% scholarship for undergrad. I majored in finance/entrepreneurship, went to law school at Emory but dropped out the first year (hated it), then came back to The U to get my MBA. I immediately started working in the hedge fund industry after graduating with my MBA.

I know that you have a G550. But when you say there's no big difference between the G550 and the G 63 AMG I would say you make the right decison! I am a fan of the G-Class too, because its a proper SUV (like the Range Rover, Hummer or Jeep).

PS: I hope that I can afford a Ferrari in ten years, when I will be as old as you :)

Sorry for scaring you, just hate to not share my story.

Yah, that's where it gets worse.

I complained to Forgiato... They said, tough luck, talk to your dealer.

Talked to dealer, they said send them back to us and we will fix the problem.

I will see if I can find a pic of the 'fix' to the problem. To call it laughable would be kind.

My friend that tried forgiatos on his cls Benz had similar issues... Pieces not matching up, air leaks, etc. honestly, it was such a bad and expensive experience, I will likely never have aftermarket wheels ever again unless I have a DIRECT relationship with the manufacturer

At least you are in Florida and have good wheel shops and nice roads. I have neither here in Oklahoma.

Did you and your friend have 3-pc wheels or 2-pc wheels? I heard 3-pc wheels give A LOT of problems. I got these Forgiato Ottos in 2-pc due to that and was told I shouldn't have any problems. My old 3-pc wheels I used to have on the Mercedes SL I sold were terrible and I was at the tire shop every couple months. Never doing 3-pc again. Too many leaks and associated problems.

First set was 3pc, next set was 2pc.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Just make sure your dealer or rep is reputable and stands by what they sell.

I bet it will look awesome. The ottos look great on SUVs.

I just flew home from Miami last night. What a cool place, sounds like you have about the two best cars you could have! Now you just need a Cig or an MTI!! ;)
