Precisely, the FXX was at close as they've been and that SV video is a classic!

Mind you the tree lines do help with the sound, there's a video of CSL M3 that gets very high pitched and sounds amazing but I believe it's to do with the sound bouncing around the tree lines.

 

That's their intent and purpose after all. Tantalise the public...

 

I'm not gonna lie. I would sell some of my organs to have a car that sounded like that.

 

You realise of course that that' s a fully blown FIA GT1 race car...

Why are millions of dollars so hard to come by?

 

it's to do with the engine design. bank angle, firing order, etc. doesn't matter what venue...wide open race track, the tone is the same. street legal Murcielago's with aftermarket exhausts sound very similar if not nearly as loud. new aventador with IPE exhaust sounds meaner and more 'race like' than even FXX... point is, for a company with no ties, no tagline rooted in F1, to out 'F1-like' Ferrari in sound, that's kinda funny.

guess we can now go back to F150 topic...or P1, or downforce, or not...

 

It's all about the Firing Order. Why else would they print it on the top of the engines?

F1's sound like that because of the revs ... no road engine could rev like that, so you will never get sound like that.

That is marketing rubbish as Top Gear's Clarkson correctly points out. I doubt there is one part that crosses over from that periods v12 engine and the F50. A F1 engine on public roads would be completely useless as they have no torque until a zillion rpm.

That Lambo sounds incredible. Definitely race weight reciprocating mass as it revs like an F1 engine

I don't think that will be the same with the F150. McLaren didn't showed up the P1 the day before the 1st press day in Paris. Today the world is different compared to the time of the F50. Internet is much wider, the communication is different and everything goes online in a second, Ferrari will keep the F150 a mistery to the world until its conference the 5th March.

You must have never seen this F50 6 years ago. Personally I think this stock F50 sounds better especially in the tunnel. The sound is orgasmic!!!!

What does any of this P1/F1/sound comparison stuff have to do with the F150? Is it me, or are there only about five of us that post on topic information in this thread? This is not a catch all super car debate thread. There multiple threads that compare Ferrari to Mclaren, super car sound and there is an entire F1 section, please try to stay on topic. All of this off-topic discussion ruins this thread for those of us that want to discuss the new car.

 

It's really all Ferrari's fault for leaving us hanging like this. They need to release the new car to the world so that people will have something to disagree on, otherwise the mind wanders.

People regard me as the McLaren guy/fan boy/whatever but I'm just as frustrated as most here we are forced to wait.

The second version you posted about earlier in the thread, is it not perhaps the equivalent of the FXX or could it be another road car. I just think it would be strange to have two road going versions of the same car.

I would assume the if the customer so wished he could send the F150 through Tailor Made or are Ferrari going to try some uniformity when it comes to options for this car?
