Wow that is sad to see.
When I was looking for my first Ferrari (348) I saw a LOT of cars that were heading to look like this car in short order. You would NOT believe the amount of Ferrari's that are on the direct path to a death like this TR. The reason you don't notice them is that they don't show up at C&C so you never see them. There are a LOT of people who bought these cars but could not afford to keep them up and they just died. I think in the 308 world this has occurred often, which is why although you see a fair amount of 308's on the road today, I believe one would be stunned at the true number of these cars remaining...I don't think it is even close to what most people think. just my .02 MB
the seam between steel frame rail and floor pan, that's serious rust damage there, and indicates IMO more and possibly worse else where FYI this is the same company advertising that yellow chop top testarossa from hawaiian pawn/loan shop in this case, like the other, is a polished up turd for the ad pics ...very sad to see in that condition
do you have the PPI list and more photos? and what was the asking price when you were looking at it? They must have it higher at this place
Someone should call them up and offer $18,500 for the poor thing . If one has the time to totally dismantle it, and part out what is still usable, one might make $5-10K profit for one's time and aggravation....That car can't possibly run for more than a couple of minutes at a time.....assuming it even runs at all.
That TR sits a little high, look at the gap from the front tires to the fender....same for the rear....wonder whats up with that? If I look at just small areas of the car it doesn't look so bad, but when I look at the whole package....Yikes! I love TRs and would buy cars that many would pass up....but even I would pass this one up. Assume it's a parts car and if things turn out better - than the buyer deserves it for taking such a risk up front.
Dear Ferraristi, Wow....it's so sad to see an icon in such bad condition. I think this is the worst condition Testarossa I've ever seen. If the coolant tank looks like that, I don't want to know what the inside of the engine looks like. I'm with Carguy, it sits way too high. Maybe one of those early DOT bumper height laws? One of the dismantlers should buy it and perpetuate the life of the good TR's out there. Shamile Freeze....Miami Vice!
prongs......I originally settled for 36k and then have a ppi. I don't know what the owner was talking about as he was saying runs really good and looks really nice and will enjoy driving this but as it turned out, wasted my time and money. I would assume that BHAC got the car at probably 30k and spiffed it up and trying to return a big profit on a poor sap. I would not recommend anyone buy this car to restore,,,really bad condition and would imagine at least 25k, if not more. Again this is a sad situation of an owner not being able to take care of this car and I would even assume that the miles are not even correct. Sitting outside, OMG. Parts car for sure at most 20k......and part car and make some money, 5 maybe 10k on top. BHAC is surely going to lose on this one.
So sun baked paint and so much corrosion due to being near the ocean and never been taken care of is a really good looking car. while it is fixable it is not priced right and some touch up paint will make it look better haha
I went to BHCC to look at a TR for a fellow F chatter last month. It was not represented well and the photos made it look like another car. This one makes me sad. As its been said before, how does a car like this fall in to this kind of condition?
