While I have a soft spot for history I wonder if its shared by current management. In fact since the car is sold out the traditional rationale in naming isn't in play.

You are probably right. Only the romantics would care.

But at least we are discussing the F70. Few others are in "The F70 Thread."

What history is there in the look of the Enzo? None.

    Good thing or bad thing?

A good thing. The retro idea is so played out it's ridiculous. 20 years of auto designers doing nothing but copy the past.

    How boring can you get?

I'm referring to naming not design.

Design innovation is a tradition but brand identity is perpetuated by incorporating themes and details within new contexts. It does not (and should not IMO) extend to the overly derivative though.

Borrowing elements from the past is ok in my book as certain surfaces, curves etc etc are more timeless than retro. Going full retro like American makers have gone is just admitting that they are out of ideas and are not willing take chances in design. Yes.... boring.

A wonderful quote by a wife.

I do notice that she is smiling -- ear to ear -- in the car, too.

If there's one thing I enjoy as much as auto racing its horse racing. Amazing animals with a competitive drive to win.

Wish we would see the F70 race! (Inserted for required F70 content)

That Lamborghini is just hideous. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where homer used a pickaxe to put "speed holes" in his car.

Still hard to believe they convinced 3 people to buy these at $4.5m each.."I almost forgot, you can only get it in green because the other 2 guys want the red and white ones"...I'd rather get an F70, P1, 918 and Huayra for that money..probably be left with some change too.

It will no doubt draw a crowd and mixed reactions. Some will applaud... some will lose their lunch. Amazing how opinions vary when it comes to design, art, taste.... It's all in the eye of the beholder as they say...

It's a brilliant marketing move by Lambo. I agree. It's already getting huge and great press.

Can we please go back to the Ferrari F70. Several people already asked for this.

@ all McLaren fans and Ferrari bashers- I want to ask you what size shoes you wear. Come Tuesday I want to make sure your foot will fit in your mouth.

@ Napolis : You probably did not get the hint this is about the Ferrari F70, not about the McLaren P1, not about the Lambo, not about Meg's Bentley. Show some class and manners - you do not see any of us hi-jacking the P4/5 thread, right.

Now-back to the Ferrari F70, I wonder if they will bring the name Dino back.....?
